I don't use Bitdefender Firewall or Windows Firewall. Neither suit my needs and are surplus to requirements anyhow. I have a hardware firewall that I test on a regular basis against new threats and it has not failed yet. Trusting any Company with your security is not without inherent risk. You are reliant on their…

This only is happening with Firefox 34, now when I go to My Bitdefender/My Devices I am greeted with an empty page, non of my 5 linked devices show up. It has been like this for a couple of days and occurs on all my three computers. It all works fine with IE 11, I don't have Chrome so I can't check with that browser. Is…

I notice update information was posted for 2015 earlier today. Please continue sharing the same information for the 2014 range too Christian.

Evidently something bad happened for them to stop recruiting moderators from the user community. Shame really as it seems to work for KL okay.

That suggests that their support is also not paying attention not only to its customers but to other areas such as websites, etc. I believe they are struggling to cope with the high level of support tickets 2014 and in particular 2015 products are generating. So attention to detail and overall maintenance of the site and…

1. read the manual before committing any change in case it messes up windows update and prevents you updating your PC. 2014 has a nasty habit of doing this if you let vulnerability scanner download and install any update for windows. 2. no idea. this is the sub-section for the older 2014 range. you may find this topic gets…

Bitdefender Total security 2015 last build 18.19.0.1369 On OS 8.1 Can you fix it ? They can but won't. It is by design
-
Yes unfortunately it is buggy for me too. I like the new interface (prefer the old look but am open to change when it brings new features if they work) and found it easy enough to navigate but it is still unreliable. Hope that made sense. Was there a public beta of it before it went live? Or was it just rolled out on a…

seeing as the issue is fixed I'd give it a go. I never used the fix tool though so can't confirm categorically what would happen.

hmm, even if they are current "please allow 10 minutes for your call to be taken" is not good business practice. the phone numbers are not toll free. so you have to sit there paying for nothing even before you get the remote possibility of some help. emailing support@bitdefender.com or creating a support ticket is clearly…

The PC was shutdown during most of 16/11/14 until I switched it on around 23:45. The broadband modem would have been switched off and disconnected from power because that's the way I like it to be when I am not using it. When I switched the PC on late on 16/11/14 the modem was off and I fired up Bitdefender window which…

By the way, I must say I have no idea what are all these services and whether they are normal... can anyone advise...? The Terminal Services service The HTTP SSL service The Network Location Awareness (NLA) service The Application Layer Gateway Service service The Fast User Switching Compatibility service The SSDP…

yes it does in that particular quoted instance indicate a connection. that was established earlier at 2014-11-17 10:29:44 in the log. however to confirm no connection for the whole of the 24 hours before your status change from orange to green we would need to see (or you can search for your own peace of mind without…

I've installed BD Anti-Virus Plus 2015 and am happy with the product. Does this particular program also scan e-mail messages as well? I use Gmail as my primary e-mail client and I know it offers very good first level protection when both receiving and sending messages. But wasn't sure whether BD Anti-Virus also has a role…

Will the last person out please close the windows, turn off the lights and close the door. Thanks...

updates are usually applied before the login screen with progress indicator e.g. percentage and stage. Please note that if your PC has updated via MS update then it has more than likely also applied all Bitdefender program updates as well. There is an issue with Bitdefender since summer that seems to cause a 30+ second…

unless BD can suddenly flick a physical switch on a modem I fail to see how it updated... it does seem very odd behaviour. the date and time on your computer haven't been adjusted at all?
-
Use windows task manager and change the priority of the scan process to a lower setting. BitDefender have set scans to utilise as much CPU resources as possible to finish faster. There is no option to change it AFAIK.
-
The order of options in the context menu should be reversed. Now "File Shredder" is the first option and the second is "Scan with Bitdefender". hasn't it always been that way round? did you shred something by mistake? in 2014 build a warning comes up with a choice of 'Yes' and 'No' to continue or not. presumably they did…

My mother has become the 5th person this week (4 were customers of mine) to tell me they don't want to renew their Bitdefender subscriptions because they have noticed how much it slows their computers. All of which far exceed the stated minimum requirements. These are not isolated incidences either and I'm quite frankly…

Please refer to my post about IDS and 64-bit here: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=223165 Basically why BitDefender and every other security package have issues enabling certain features. At the same time why they are less relevant...

Yes you can. It will download along with malware database updates. Then you will be prompted to restart for the update. Anyhow that isn't a great 'fix' as it reduces the protection available supposedly paid for by us users. Given the choice of hobbling a product to gain back 30 seconds of my day I'll leave well alone. What…

av defender? which build of BitDefender are you using? Right click the task tray icon and choose about.

This thread is now in danger of straying into product comparison. The only suggestion I agree that is on topic would be to implement a program/trusted file exclusion list. Otherwise it serves the purpose well.

Hi, My annual subscription for my BitDefender Internet Security 2015 is about to expire and I was wondering which would be the easiest and/or safest way to downgrade to just the AV version, given the fact that I am no really using the Privacy functions of IS , like parental control, wallet, etc. 1.- Should I UN-Install IS…

Hi, I cannot find where to download the Free Edition anywhere!!!! I can only find to download trials. Every time I go to this link: http://www.bitdefender.com/toolbox/freeapps/desktop/ And click on "Find out more" it just goes back onto the main page. So I guess some time ago there was a free version, but now there isn't…

I have just installed Bitdefender and noticed I now have a focus rectangle around my last selected desktop icon which I can't remove. How do I fix this? Have you restarted the computer since installing?

In theory BDAV and comodo firewall (as long as that is all it is) should work together. However like Rampant mentions there may still be driver conflicts. Which is partly why I said about taking a backup and trying them together.
