  • Hi UtterlyDisilusioned, short answer to your question about wiping/locking PC is NO. For your specific needs, I would recommend using some kind of combo of good AV engine, like i.e. Bitdefender, and some light-weight but effective anti-malware protection. Cheers!

  • Hi Hmax, I completely agree with Sorin, disabling your protection is not the best idea. Instead add an exception for desired game in Bitdefender firewall rules. If you are not sure how, you can follow this guide: https://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-add-exclusions-(exceptions)-in-bitdefender-2016-1467.html If it`s a…

  • Hi, Each user account folder also contains an "AppData" folder, which is considered a "system" folder. You should try to add the top level data folders for each user to the ransomware protection module. Then just make sure that user's personal files are all in subfolders of the those primary user account data folders.
  • Hello archie400. I think you should try enabling Generci Mode. Also 2017 should have better compitability with windows 10 so i advise you to update to BD2017. Cheers!
  • Hello ARivera, welcome to Bitdefender forum. I think that as long as the bitdefender blocks the scans they cant get the list of opened ports, so there is nothing to worry about. You are safe my friend, keep gaming carefree.
  • Hi VikingJ, as Sorin said laptops generally have slower hard-drives (usually lower cache, and rpm), besides that it depends on what other applications run in background, and probably type of file system on your volumes, OS type, state of files on volume(when was it defragmented last time) etc. I recommend you run a full…

  • Hello snehil. Did complete system froze or just Bitdefender installation? What is the OS type and system spec? cpu/ram/hdd usage? I would probably close the installation, restart. Clean the "old" install files, maybe manually turn off Defender and windows firewall (just in case),and start the installation again.
  • Hello, I agree with Sorin G., adding an exclusion on Ransomware module should solve your problem. And yeah disabling BD could be very risky business especially these days.. My advise is to add an exclusion and if that don`t help you, send a feedback so we could come up with another solution.
