I've had it previously installed on my laptop before i switched from windows 7 to linux.  Now when i log into my account I can not find a place to redownload the software.  The license key located with the disk is at home (im at college) and my parents have no idea where it is .... -,- </p>

I have bought a 3 PC license. One is already used in another PC. On my PC I have installed and registered Antivirus pro 2011 . But i need to reformat my disk. </p>
<p>
How do i reuse my already activated license after the reinstall? Do i just type in the same license number i used the first time, when prompted during the install process? </p>
<p>
Will that use up the one remaining license?</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I've used Bitdefender for several years and there is ONE THING that I find very annoying. Last year I had a license for ten devices. This year I started receiving the doomsday emails, your product is about to expire, "Danger Will Robinson...DANGER!".</p><p>So I decided to stop ignoring the annoying emails and renew a few weeks early...the problem is, despite Bitdefender reaching out to ME...they did not offer the correct renewal, a 5 device license was all that was offered, so I grabbed it. Then...to add insult to injury, I get a message saying I was setup to auto renew and did not need to do it myself, so they needed to cancel my auto renewal.</p><p>Come on folks, pardon my French but, "get your shit together!" If I don't need to renew on my own because of auto renewal, then don't bother me with pointless and ultimately irritating doomsday emails! Also, don't IGNORE the fact that I'm protecting 10 devices and only offer to sell me a license for 5 devices. This really makes you look like you do not have a clue about me as a customer. If I filled out a survey today that asked if, on a scale of 1-10, I though Bitdefender <em>cared</em> about me as a customer, you'd receive a 1 out of 10. It's obvious you <em>do not</em>.</p><p>I'm going to drop a reminder in my calendar for this time next year. If I start getting the fake, ""Your AV is about to expire and you need to renew" warnings, I'm going to take some time and decide if Bitdefender is still my best security option. Because I like your product, I have not bothered doing this for the last couple years. Your actions this year have made me reexamine my trust in you.</p>]]>

However when I try to register and enter the &lt;existing license key&gt; (the only one I have), I get the following error:</p>

"The License key you have entered is currently used in the product. You cannot register the product twice with the same key.".</p>
<p>
Is it necessary to register again, or will the product automatically detect that the license key is extended?</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>So I have 45 days left (crikey, where did that 350 days go?!) of my license of Internet Security 2011. I tried out 2012 and hated it. No scan activity bar, a UI for ****** and system slow down - no thanks. 2013 is probably equally as bad so I'd prefer to stick with 2011 thank you very much. It works, it works fantastically well so why "fix" something that isn't broke?</p>

I want to renew my license but keep 2011, i.e I want to just buy a new license and not have to waste time installing 2012/2013 only to then uninstall it and reinstall 2011 again just to make use of my new license. So can I do this? Keep 2011 installed and just buy a new license?</p>
<p>
And please, Bitdefender: bring back the 2011 UI and scan activity bar for 2014, or you and me are finished and I'm off to use someone else's software before you cancel support for 2011.</p>]]>

I have assisted my friend to choose BD as protection for his laptop. This was in 2011 so he bought BD Total Sec 2011. These days license expired, so he bought Total Sec 2012 license. </p>
<p>
PROBLEM: New licence was entered at 2011 version, and system acceped... But instead 365 days it shows that license expires in 291 day. I'm almost sure that serial was activated before he sold license to my friend... Explanation from computer shop guy was that is problem is with 2011 version and that we should install 2012 first, then enter new serial number. So my question is: Did you guys have similar situation? I suspect of fraud in this case but I have to be sure before I go for action.</p>

Was having speed and resource issues, so checked online and found a whole host of problems with 2012 that are waiting to be fixed. I cannot work with the bugs so I found a forum thread </p>

The exact message is "The license key you have entered does not match the current product you have installed on your system. This License key is for the product: BitDefender Total Security. Would you like to install this product instead?"</p>
<p>
With a link below to install bit defender total security or get help with the issue.</p>
<p>
 How can I get it to renew with the registration key, time is kind of important as I have 6 days before my BD sub expires.</p>]]>

i re-installed my bit defender antivirus 2011 with 141 days left before expiration without internet connection, when i was able to connect to the internet I’ve got a message in my dashboard saying "NO ACCOUNT CREATED" with 1 warning that goes "TO BEBEFIT FROM UPDATES AN COSTUMER SUPPORT AFTER 30 DAYS FROM INSTALLATION, ACTIVATING THE PRODUCT BY CREATING/SIGNING IN AN ACCOUNT IS MANDATORY!, when I tried to fix it by signing in to my account I’m getting a warning the says "THE LICENSE KEY YOU HAVE ENTERED IS NOT VALID. IF YOU PURCHASED THIS KEY YOU CAN CONTACT COSTUMER SUPPORT TO GET HELP WITH THIS ISSUE.", i was able to re-register my product by offline registration and now it expires w/in 365 days w/c is not supposed to be. I am no longer protected please help, thanks and God Bless!</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>BitDefender <b>Free</b> 2011 has stopped updating here after just about one month use, showing the taskbar icon in grey, saying my license is expired and my computer is NOT protected (capitalized like that), and asking me to inform a new key. I get no clue as to how I could get such a key - I only get messages telling me where to purchase the full version. They even refer to a sticker on the box with the key...</p>
<p>
And no, I'm not running a trial version of the full product. It's <i>BitDefender <b>Free</b> 2011</i> that appears on the title bar. "Free" as in "gratis, no cost."</p>
<p>
Is it not "Free" after all? Is it time-limited? Why do I need to have a key for a free product? Finally, and most important, how do I get such a key?</p>
<p>
I have searched this forum and found <b>lots</b> of similar problems with versions 2009 and 2010, but none with version 2011. There were even generic keys supplied (in a pinned topic), but they didn't work for me - I got an error message saying that the key was not valid for my product version.</p>

My license for BitDefender AntiVirus 2010 is about to expire. However a few weeks ago I </p>

bought 1 x BitDefender Total Security 2011 (3 PCs, 1 year). Now my first question is: </p>

* Am I allowed to use my new license for BitDefender Total Security 2011 on the computer, where </p>
<p>
my other license (for BitDefender AntiVirus 2010) is about to expire? I have only installed the 2011 </p>
<p>
version on one computer at the moment.</p>
<p>
My second question is:</p>
<p>
* Can I simply uninstall BitDefender AntiVirus 2010 using the control panel, and then install BitDefender </p>
<p>
Total Security 2011 afterwards, or is there another procedure to achieve the installation of the 2011 version?</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I have just received an e-mail offering me 6 months free if I but a one year subscription.</p>
<p>
My experiences with Bitdefender have been mixed.  </p>
<p>
In the first year I used it, I thought it was a great product.  It never once interfered with the performance of my PC</p>
<p>
That all changed in the second year.  I was forced to upgrade from the standard antivirus option because it would not work along side my Zonealarm firewall.  At no extra cost I had to start using internet security and that in my opinion has been the worst piece of security software I have ever had the misfortune to put on my PC.</p>
<p>
It immediately slowed down my PC to slower than snail pace and the technical support offered was in my opinion very lacking as I do not believe the support team could A) handle the volume of queries being raised through this forum and <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6031943/uploads/ipb_attachments/emoticons/default_cool.png" alt="B)" /> Did not have a clue what the solution to my problem was.  </p>
<p>
In the end, I had to disable the antispam element of the package because it was deleting e-mails from my system which it considered as SPAM.  Bitdefender as much as accused me of lying on this saying that it cannot delete messages.  Well I assure you it did, because they disappeared somewhere between the webserver where I had been reading them at work in the day and were not there when I started Outlook.</p>
<p>
I also had to disable Windows automatic update because when that tried to run with Bitdefender running at the same time, my computer just hung every time.</p>
<p>
With Bitdefender Antispam disabled and Windows automatic update disabled, I've had no problems.</p>
<p>
But I don't want to be paying for a product that is not compatible with XP and only works when certain of its own elements are shut down.</p>
<p>
I'd like to switch back to the bog standard antivirus.</p>
<p>
And so my question is this ... What is the consensus of opinion of Antivirus Pro 2011.  If you think it is not up to the job, what recommendations do you have for an alternative AV?</p>
