this problem has really only just started.

long story short once it starts it doesnt stop until reboot. and lve noticed it only really happens when lm using firefox to download stuff (the integrated downloader), lve only noticed this weirdness since l played around with some *.apk files it said were viruses which they were not (l was editing them so know their content as l was messing with my android) since then this problem has been on and off. and while l dont always notice straight away its getting slightly annoying especially since l cannot pin the issue.

any chance someone could tell me how to create some logfiles? lm hoping that someone might be able to give me an idea what the issue is and if there is a fix for it, and before anyone suggests updating l did last year, because of the same issue with vsserv l reverted to 2011 which l much prefer over any other version.

and as a side note, l notice one person was told to remove spybot.. l have ccleaner installed it has been for months and hasnt caused any issues.

Hi,

I'm having the instant PC slowdown issue , which has been introduced lately when I purchase BDIS 2011.

I have notified BD technical support and sent them captions and pictures of the issue. The last email was on 9 Jan 2011, and I didn't hear from them since then.

I'd like to advise Dany that I have been reading since I had this issue 3 weeks ago on the web and seen alot of opinions. All agree that there is a programming issue with vsser module.

I have a relatively strong PC that can handle high render games and it is fast, even when I had norton installed, and never had an issue.

But since this issue had come, my computer frozen and I couldn't run my business, so one of the technical support on chat (his name is Robert) he advised that I need to format the machine, and after continuous frustration, I did it. But the problem occured again.

Please look into the issue, rather than defending BD. It is a good software.

Regards.

Here's a good one for you, Dan.

I've used Bitdefender products for a couple of years now. Liked it. Purchased 2011 Total Security and everything is great. All my programs started up great and run without a problem.

Then I wanted an automotive maintenance software program. I found "Automotive Wolf" and liked it. Downloaded the trial version and it ran flawlessly. Paid for the license key. Entered the key. Tried to run it and it would be so slow, it was unbearable. Informed their tech support of the problem and we went back and forth with emails and files. To make a long story short, I started up my Task Manager and saw that when I was starting up Automotive Wolf (AW), Bitdefender's vsserv.exe was running wild. (40-70% of my CPU usage). This was causing my AW program to be hampered in starting up and running. We decided that it was BD vsserv.exe that was the problem. The AW program ran great on another pc without BD.

Now the weird part.

I uninstalled my Bitdefender product. Now Automotive Wolf runs great. Reinstalled Bitdefender. AW runs great.......until............Bitdefender updates or gets updated. As long as Bitdefender never updates, AW runs great.

I've started up many other programs on my pc while running Task Manager with updated Bitdefender running, and they all start up and run fine. Vsserv stays low and is not a problem. But Automotive Wolf will be "devoured" by vsserv and takes forever to start up and run. Every click in the program takes a few minutes to take hold because vsserv is sucking the life out of my resources.

Why is it picking on Automotive Wolf and not the other programs?

I've replaced Bitdefender with a free program, Avast, and AW runs just fine.

Ok, I'm ready to jump through your hoops.

Thanks

I bought Bitdefender and, after many hours of trying to work out what was wrong with my computers (I am not a technician), I read many reviews saying that Bitdefender was too resource hungry.

Therefore, I have made the decision to ask for a refund.

I have tried the usual channels on the main Bitdefender website but never received confirmation of receiving my request.

Any telephone contact numbers (for UK) I tried cut off and weren't working.

I went into My Bitdefender and tried to send a ticket from there. I'm not a100% sure that worked either.

Very disappointed with the support here and have now resorted to putting a message on the forum for help.

Please PM me if you work for administrator support to explain what is going on.

I look forward to a response ASAP.

I noticed after installing bitdefender 2011 that ALL of my pc's internet functions were "glitchy", slower, and any video I try to stream buffers constantly, to the point where I cannot tolerate it.

I've already researched and discovered that the driver "httproxy.dll" is what is slowing down my whole system. I following "Google" search instructions, and re named this driver httproxy.dl_

Everything runs perfectly,.. video streams with no annoying buffers, etc.,..

Then somewhere during a bitdefender 2011 update, it must have re downloaded this because after I noticed the same pc problems, I checked in the bitfender folder, and sure enough, there was the same driver "httproxy.dll" , and the exact same issues were present.

Once again I renamed said file, and the pc runs normally. I now have automatic updates disabled to prevent this problem from occurring again, but I'm afraid I may need some of the updates.

How can I make sure bitdefender doesn't once again download the same problematic "httproxy.dll" driver ?

Thanks,

I can see that I can turn off real time protection, but I can't figure out how to completely turn it off.

Hello,

I recently installed BitDefender Total Security 2011. I play online games called M.U.D.s, or Multi User Dungeons online using a program called zMud to connect to various domains.

Ever since I installed BDTS, I've been unable to play my games - not because I could not connect, but because for some reason, my input to the client I use is -very- slow. As an example, loading the client - which before took around three seconds - takes closer to fifteen now. When I do get the client loaded and select the server I wish to connect to, connection is almost instant - as before. However, any text I enter into the command line takes up to a minute to appear, and does not appear entirely.

When I type the name of my character, Grignor, for example, after about thirty seconds, 'Gri' might appear, but not the 'gnor', even though I typed the full word. As you might expect, that makes playing impossible, as I am unable to even log in to the game, much less interact with others on a real time basis.

I have added all the file paths that seemed relevant to the antivirus exclusions list (see screenshot), to no noticeable effect.

On that list are:

The specific 'world' file path for one of my characters.

The entire directory path for the m.u.d. client.

The specific 'world' file path for another of my characters.

The file path of a program that acts as a proxy for connecting to various 'worlds'.

The file path to the folder holding that program (There are some .dll's that let the program function in there, I just didn't want them blocked.)

The path to the .dll that specifically allows the 'mapper' aspect of the program to work (it creates a real time map of the m.u.d. I am connected to.)

The file path of a specific 'world' that I use the program on.

As I stated - connection isn't an issue (before adding the i_mapper dll to the exclusions file, my 'mapper' was not loaded at all). I can connect just fine, it's my own input that's being screened or something that makes it impossible to interact with the 'world' and even bars me, by proxy, from logging into the games.

Thanks,

Karl D.

halu everyone in technical dept... am having problem regarding internet connection after i install Internet security 2011.

my system reached beyond minimum requirement for this Bitdefender to install on the Computer of my boss, at first i read it carefully how to install it, and expect few restart sometime during installation, and i did sucessfully, but sad to know about how slow the internet connection, before the download speed is 10Mbps, now its 258Kbps.. it's painful, coz my boss would be so disappointed for this..

i tried to follow some of possible trouble fixing in manual regarding slow internet but still no positive result, disable the firewall, still slow.

Please tell me straight if there is a chance to fix this right away.. Cause frankly i find this sortware very complicated to install.. and surprisingly lot of issues same with my situation..

hope to hear from you ASAP

thanks

Hi I have a new system that slows to a crawl shortly after using the internet for the first time. It happens with IE/Firefox/Chrome. The process consuming the most total CPU time according to task manager is seccenter.exe, vsserve.exe also has significant CPU time.

I see CPU usage by windows explorer and the WDM.exe process as well, but these are less than the seccenter process. Please let me know if there are any settings i should change to speed the system up.

Thanks

But Bitdefender 2011 has really slowed the performance of my computer. I am running it on a Windows XP operating system. I am also having problems with getting it to scan on startup even though I have set it to do this. I have also unchecked the box which says run task when system is idle for 30 minutes. I would really appreciate any help that you could give me.

I did not have this problem last night.. I tried updating everything, reinstalling firefox etc. but the only thing that resolved my problem was to disable your antiphishing toolbar 2.0...

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up on this.

I'm running on Windows 7 x64 (32 bit FireFox though).

Unchecked Scan web (HTTP) traffic

Disabled the Search Advisor

Disabled the Antiphishing module for Firefox

Disabled both the AVC and IDS modules.

I'm sick of the endless problems that BD is causing me so any fix would be great. I came to BD from Trend Micro thinking it would be upgrade, but this is genuinely one of the most buggy anti-viruses I've ever used. Most of the bugs and glitches disappear after a few days but this one is obviously persistent.
