Hello,

Please help!

I am usually very diligent and careful with my passwords, but have forgotten the settings protection password for my Antivirus Plus 2013. Can anyone tell me how I may reset or recover it?

I opened a support ticket with Bitdefender support more than 2 weeks ago, but have heard nothing. I contacted support again several days ago.. and still no reply.

I have a 3 computer license, and up to this point (trying to get tech support help), have really been impressed with the product. I will seriously look elsewhere for my anti-virus solution if this is typical of Bitdefender support.

Please Advise?

I am running Vista Ultimate and BD 2013 Total Security.

I have recently tried TCPview software to have a look at what is happening with my internet connections.

I notice vsserv.exe is establishing and maintaining a connection to amazonaws.com.

The connection is active, with the sent/received packets count climbing while the connection is open.

I can end the process, but vsserv.exe reestablishes the amazonaws.com connection a short time later.

Does anyone know why vsserv.exe needs an active connection to amazonaws.com?

For some reason your antivirus is deleting shortcuts to genuine software I have installed. This is VERY, VERY annoying. I wasn't happy when it deleted Cyberlink media, or the opensource software, GIMP for image manipulation which took hours to install and which I needed for making a wedding album for my friend. Let alone when it deleted music from my library. But it just deleted the shortcut for Blurb Booksmart totally at random and without prompt. I've been making a book and now I can't use the program properly. That's cr@p.

Thanks a bunch Bit Defender. Please tell me how I can reinstate these shortcuts on my start menu so I don't have to go via the programs menu. If it can't be done you'd better expect a twitter feed telling the world about it.

Yours sincerely

I decided to purchase BTS 2013 after reading the great reviews on its ability to battle viruses and malware. Unfortunately, I am finding that it is battling items that it should not be having problems with.

I use iTunes. I download podcasts via iTunes. I am finding that when iTunes "processes the file," the download stops and I have to restart from the beginning. I didn't have problems with this before. The only thing that has changed is the installation of BTS 2013. After doing some troubleshooting, I decided to stop the "on-access" scanning for the folder in which the podcasts are saved. After changing this setting, I have not had problems with downloading podcasts.

I believe that this a bug on BTS 2013, unless a technician could give me another alternative that does not make this folder vulnerable.

The more and more I am dealing with BTS 2013, the more inclined I am about asking for a refund. I am glad that my tech expertise allows me to figure crap like this out, but someone that is not versed on computers at all most likely is having difficulties with this software.

Hi, I am hoping someone can please help me? last night my laptop was fine, this morning as I turned it on, the finger print login icon was missing from the login screen, so had to login with my password.

After I logged in, I was instantly welcomed with a load of errors, they are:

igfxtray module has stopped working

windows media player network sharing service config app has stopped working

igfxhk has stopped

igfxem has stopped

so I closed all them. I have since realised that anytime I try to open control panel I get an error saying - this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

so it doesn't seem to be allowing me into the control panel.

when I click ok I then get an error saying windows explorer has stopped working, then I have to restart it.

I instantly thought, I will do a virus scan wth my bitdefender total security, when I load it up it says there are critical issues to fix, when I try to fix them, it says my on access scanning is disabled, when I try to enable or fix this, it says failed and stays disabled, it also wont let me do a general virus scan in the application (great security ey) lol

firefox will not open at all which is what I use 99% of the time, every time I try and load it, nothing at all happens, although I can use internet explorer, which is how I am writing this now, from here I have downloaded and installed malware bytes and Kaspersky virus scanner. malware bytes says there are no issues on my laptop, but Kaspersky says there are issues but when I click fix, nothing at all happens.

another issue is when I open windows update, it shows with a red cross as if its disabled, when I try and search for updates, it just says windows cannot search for updates.

I am using widows 7.

Can anyone help me please, I really have no idea how this has happened, I have tried everything I can think of, but cannot do much more without help.

Thanks

Hello,

I've a problem I can not solve.

Very frequently I've got the following Virus Scan Event in Total security.

Infected web resource detected.

The application skype.exe accesses a web resource http://go.flx.com/imp? id=....... that has been detected as infected. The web resource has been successfully blocked and your computer is now safe.

I have no idea where is coming from, and it is nice to hear it was blocked.

However I like to know where it's coming from, and I like to know if my computer (skype) is infected. I like to solve this problem permanently.

Someone who can help?

Thanks.

I currently have Bitdefender 2013 Antivirus on my PC, I realise there is a later version available, apart from probably some new features is it really necessary to update annually as a new version is released? My 2013 version works fine and if the security is the same for 2013 and the latest version I can't see the point of going through the process of uninstalling the version I have and setting up the latest version.

Is there anything much to be gained by taking up the offer of the free upgrade, as I said I am comfortable with the 2013 version and it seems to work fine, appreciate your thoughts.

I tried to use the typical one in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Threat Scanner\Antivirus_******_YYY\bdc.exe but there is no bdc.exe neither bdscan.exe here.

Where is the command line scanner or where can I download it?

Bitdefender isn't picking it up. I've removed a couple of suspicious programs, but this hasn't gotten rid of it. Is there a way I can delete this program, which seems to be running in the background? A Google query gives some replies that it is a Trojan Horse. Would running Bitdefender in Windows Safe Mode do the trick?

Bitdefender rescue mode selection comes up every time I boot my computer. I want to know how to prevent my computer from continuing to boot into rescue mode. Every time I boot it goes to a screen to a screen to select between Bitdefender antivirus rescue mode or to boot Windows 7. By default it goes to Windows 7 if no selection is taken. I want to prevent this from happening, because it takes more time to boot. I don't need to be in Bitdefender rescue mode.

Windows 7 64-bit.
