Since I have ran Safego, the same alleged infections or scams or whatever are still there from months ago. What good is this app if it can't resolve this stuff. I've ran scans for malware and it never finds any yet this stuff is constantly being flagged as malware. Yet what can I do about it? I get a prompt to go to my Bitdefender and it always says to go to some link but when I go to the link it takes me to the BD Safego page. If there's no way of clearing these things should I just shut this down so it doesn't waste bandwidth? I just can't see what I'm getting out of this?

Hello!

Since a couple days I am an owner of Bitdefender Familypack 2013.

I saw the Safego protectors and enabled them both. The protection for Facebook works fine but with my twitter he keeps telling me 'scanning your friends'.

So I wanted to disable it and re-enable it, but that didn't work.

I already revoked safego twitter acces, but It still says, 'scanning your friends'.

Someone who can help me with this?

maybe i'm the only one who is bothered by this, but after i'm using by bd account dashboard or safebox etc. i log out so if anyone else is usung the pc he won't be able to log in to my account and view my details, safebox files etc.

when i activated safego for facebook, i noticed that when i enter the safego panel from the main bd interface it connects without prompting for a password.

and once your'e in the safego panel you can easily navigate to all the other panels of the bd account such as personal details, safebox etc.

i think a good idea is either prompt for "my account" password when entering the safego interface or dividing them.

i think right now there is a built-in way to bypass account password and watch personal details.

maybe it's kind of paranoid, but i suggest bd team should give it a thought.

thanks

Using Bitdefender SafeGo on Facebook with Firefox and Chrome. Although I don't see many scams these days as many of my contacts on Facebook are getting more sophisticated in spotting them it seems, I do seem to be getting a lot of regular ol' stuff posted by legitimate organizations labelled as "infected." I'm not sure why that is. See examples in screen shot attached. How can we help to improve this product?

I don´t think someone noticed this but using this app on Facebook can actually lead to your systems being attacked and compromised.

Lets analyze how attackers get access to a corporate network today. First they know they need to penetrate the external perimeters, they know the firewalls and systems so they need to use someone weak in the whole chain. Someone that has access from inside, some IT guy or probably someone else which is not so internet geek. The attackers like most attacks today research someone using social networks, get data, details and then sends them an email with some attachment, from a spoofed email account, the person opens the PDF and he is infected by some custom code Trojan. From here they get access to another network system and from there jump to the disabling the firewall.

Why I do I point this because the first thing they are going to do is research you on Facebook and this apps advertised everywhere you are using BitDefender.

I like to use this, but why in the world would I advertise in Facebook which security suite I have installed? So the attacker that researchs me knows now "ok, he uses BitDefender, so I just need to code a custom backdoor which is not detected by Bitdefender" this vs not knowing exactly what you are using.

Does this make sense? Attackers not only know exactly what security software you are using but actually this is advertising everyone that us uing BitDefender. This is probably true for all Facebook Antivirus apps, but never the less the same reason why I don´t use this.

In terms of security there is no need to marketing which product you are using. Bitdefender needs the extra eye views, but that is not making their own customers any more safer, and in the end that is exactly why they are paying them.

I am trying to activate Facebook & Twitter protection for BD Total Security 2013 on a Win 7 64-bit computer. I have tried sevral browsers: IE9, FF14 & Chrome 20 (latest), both with & without extensions, addons, etc. The pages for this under MyBitDefender are not displaying, with FF stating the connection to the server was reset (page taking too long to load). Similar message for IE and have not waited for a message from Chrom, since after 5 minutes, it's still trying to load the page.

How do I activate this protection properly - it does not appear to be working on the MyBitDefender website.

BD installation is new and with all the defaults - program has been running for less than a week.

It should be noted that MyBitDefender serves up its pages very slowly for all sections, so it is hard to tell if anything is loading or not - for instance, selecting "More Info" for a protected computer displays "Loading" for several minutes before finally displayig something. other times it just keeps showing "Loading" and I just have to close the browser since it appears to be stuck.
