I've noticed that the False Positive forum will soon be disabled and queries will be submitted directly to BD Labs. This will be nice as it may help free up Tech. Support to be able focus on The New Bitdefender forum: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=210389

Some members are still trying to post questions on the older forums, especially the 2012 forums. Georgia has been on top of it in notifying members of the need to upgrade to The New Bitdefender/2014 version, and closing those threads. Is there any way of just disabling the older forums like you're going to be doing with the False Positive forum, which would still leave us access to the knowledge base there. Also, when the new beta (for the 2015 version) comes out and then hits public release, would then be nice to disable the 2013 forum at that time, as it will be 2 years behind.

Just a thought

I just bought BD for 12 months thinking it would help me rid my system of the dreaded "charmsearching" browser hijacker. The hack redirects all browser searches to use Bing and as I understand it, all links presented are fake and or malicious.

BD, does not detect it even after a full scan. How can BD be rated so highly when it can't find this?

Furthermore, a search for "charmsearching" on this community found zero topics (now probably only this one).

So a warning to anyone else with this problem, don't buy BD to resolve this issue. It's wasted money. 😡

It is a shame that you spend good money on a computer only to have ads tossed at you every time you try to use the net. BD removes cookies quite well but doubleclick highjacks your browser's back button. They say you can stop this from happening. It would be nice if BD had a setting for this so these companies that do this can not force themselves on you. Myself I would like to see a class actions taken against these companies. If they want to throw ads at you non-stop and highjack your stuff, it makes them no different than hackers. I may feel different about this if they gave the computer to me.. It is vandalism and trespassing. Google and doubleclick being the worst. google says you can opt out of their ads and I say BS.

Had to gripe about this but really... I have not found a piece of software that really addresses this issue and works. If BD could do this then they would have a winner for sure.....

Thanks you for reading this. All opinions welcome

I have tried to download 5 different android app players and emulators onto my pc and so far bitdefender has allowed 2 to download, 1 installed and none have run. prime example, bluestacks app player. i had this program for a long time and it was ok, but windows 7 had some problems with making it look like a phone or tablet. small issue as many apps worked just fine. i have seen friends systems now using windows 8.1 (like me) and running bluestacks, playing thier games and app on their systems and it looks great. I was unable to even download or install bluestacks as bit defender kept killing it at every turn. I had to uninstall bitdefender all together before i could get anything to work. but now i had no protection for the net or anything else other than windows defender. AVG had no issues, as did another antivirus program i tried for awhile. But since i have bought bitdefender it not only stops my downloads it stops installed programs from running. i have over 200 days left on my subscription and as much as i like this antivirus for all its other abilities it is quickly making me regret spending my money on something i cant turn off, cant allow wanted programs to run or even download. they are not infected, not dangerous just made to hang or not work. Its a sad fact that it has to be so overbearing on so many programs with no reason or explanation. this is great if you want to be an uber paranoid surfer that only looks but can never touch kind of person. i have tried allowing these things on every list i can find in bitdefender but still no progress. i guess I have no choice left to me but to go to some other protection system like AVG once again and toss this one away. money sadly wasted. paying twice for an antivirus program and having to settle for a lesser product because yours is so user and program unfriendly. I have removed it from my daughters systems (laptop-tablet-android galaxy s4) and am in the process of doing the same to mine. Thats 4 thumbs way down from just us 2 bitdefender and all my friends are soon joining me. way to lose customers.

I have a 3 pc license but on renewal an old subscription was renewed automatically-this was for just 1 pc

I opened a "ticket" -24 hours for a reply which is non relevant

I opened another ticket- reply again 24 hours and I replied to the email -no response

48 hours later I emailed again and waited

24 hours later a response from Mihaela Partica apologizing for the emails and tickets being ignored and a please respond to this email for a solution (combining both keynumbers and a refund)

I emailed but of course-no response at all

26 hours later I re sent the email with no reply again

I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE

I have been dealing with this for over a week -the tardiness of Bitdefender in replying is shocking. I have wasted so much time on what should have been sorted on the first email

I feel that I am owed an apology but of course if I send another email it will again be posted in the pending file and another week OR SO will slip by.

What an awful company to deal with

So instead of saving in E:\Users\My Account\Downloads\Bitdefender SafePay it still saves to the C:\Users\My Account\Downloads\Bitdefender SafePay and is then not picked up by Explorer as a result.

There is no way in SafePay or the Bitdefender UI to change this.

Please make sure the program reads the user profile settings and saves to the correct location set or allow it to be changed manually.

the download link to me, so I had to install a competing product that would allow me to directly download the trial version, like MBAM does. They want their new computer configured asap.

BD just lost a sale. I am sure that there are many folks, like me, configuring new computers for clients. The hassle of having to interact with a client to secure a copy of the download link is a deal breaker, at least

for me.

Just my thoughts. I presume BD has good reasons for their policy, but they escape me.

Have a great day.

When running a Virus scan, I frequently get a number of "Infected files detected" in BDIS 2014. 99% of the time, this is because I've picked up some dodgy tracking cookies, which on their own, are not really major threat, and come with the territory of browsing the web.

The problem is, everytime I see "Infected files detected" I tend to panic a little and get a bit paranoid, as there's a small chance it could actually be a Trojan, Worm or Virus this time. If what I'm thinking turns out to be true, I don't want to have to wait until the end of the scan to have it removed, and I want to be sure to have changed all of my important passwords ASAP.

Here's where the problem becomes major for me:

In order to see what the infected files are during a scan, I ether have to stop the scan altogether, or wait up to an hour for the scan to complete. Obviously, because I'm rather paranoid, I tend to stop the scan to check what the infection is, after which I have to start the scan over again.

The solution to this would be simple enough, as there are 2 options, 1 or both of which could be fairly easily implemented.

1. Show realtime scan results during the scan. i.e List infected files found while the scan is ongoing.

2. Move tracking cookies to the Yellow Category instead of the Red Category. Categorizing tracking cookies in the same category as viruses leads to unnecessary panic.

Other than that BDIS is a great program, which has protected me from many unwanted infections.

2. Allow all Bitdefender windows to be maximized. It would be easier to find things in the event log and quarantine if we could see more than four items at a time.

3. Allow use of the keyboard to select & scroll through event logs and quarantine (ie. Arrow Up, Arrow Down, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End). The keys currently do not work at all in the event logs, and don't work properly in quarantine.

I am user of BitDefender Internet Security and have renewed my subscription 1 once again and I'm renewing for 2014/2015.

I'll take a critical and constructive suggestion.

your competitor Kaspersky that you've used before, has an anti-banner module, this gives more security to the product and I think it just need to get close to the ideal protection ...

Please create at least one application for us to use while not placing in the final product.

It's a shame to read of someone BitDefender suggest using AD-Block for this ...

I await your response if this protection is being developed for you for your products.

Grateful.

Hi,

I personally do not want to use the "My Bitdefender" feature at the moment, and have not

connected my Bitdefender installation to a My Bitdefender account.

Eyery day or two, an annoying popup is displayed that wants to remind me to login

to My Bitdefender.

Is there a way to disable that annoying popup? I know that I have not logged in to My Bitdefender yet,

but this is my decision, and annoying the heck out of me isn't going to change my mind

The opposite might be true. If there really is no way to stop this from annoying me, It's quite possible

that I have to move on to another antivirus.

What about adding a checkbox "Do not show this again" to the remider ? Surely this should be

very easy to implement.

Is there a registry entry or .ini-File entry that can be changed to disable these popups?

Thank you in advance and all the best

We REALLY need BD Firewall to allow us to pop up any time any program tries to access the internet IN or OUT and give us the option to allow or deny it -- Just once or as a Rule.

I read in another thread that you could just manually set the rules, but we don't always know what EXE will be hitting the net. Much better to just be prompted. Over time, the rules get set and the prompts become fewer and fewer.

I'm on a trial, right now, and mostly like BD over my previous ESET, but I think your firewall will prevent me from converting to paid unless you're able to add the interactive feature.

Thanks for considering it.
