        <description><![CDATA[<p>A strange thing has happened - can anyone explain this...?</p>

Sometimes I work with my PC not connected to the internet. Yesterday I was doing so and my Bitdefender window was orange due to not having updated/connected to server in the last 24 hours. Well, I minimised my window and did my work, without connecting (as far as I am aware) to the internet. This morning I turned my PC on and fired up Bitdefender window before connecting to the internet (broadband modem still switched off). And this time the Boitdefender window was green and without any orange warning of no connection in last 24 hours.</p>
<p>
Can you understand my confusion? How can this occur?</p>

By the way, for informatuion I have checked events list for update and there were successful updates listed today at 2014-11-17 11:42:08 (having switched PC on at around 10:30) and the previous one on 2014-11-15 18:26:38. In between these successful updates there are ten events labelled "Update encountered an error" - possibly because I was working on my PC without connection to internet. Event message reads "Bitdefender could not resolve the update server configured" etc but I'm just ignoring these. But surely there should be another message of "successful update" if my status goes from orange yesterday ("no update in last 24 hours") to green today at 10:30ish?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hallo, I would like to know where to find a log of all updates (virus library version updates as well as any other relevant software version updates) with some kind of version number and the date-time when it was installed on my PC.</p>
<p>
Date-time of download would be interesting too in case that can be different.</p>
<p>
My PC is not always connected to the internet. Where can I find such a log and will it be readable in plain text for me? (if not then how can I read it)</p>
<p>
In case it helps answering my Bitdefender 2014 build version is 17.30.0.1275 and I am running Windows XP because its jolly.</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I have Bitdefender Internet Security (have no idea what version as it doesn't seem to easily show the version anywhere.</p>

I can update the virus definitions fine on my home network (which has several firewalls, IDS etc), however on the corporate network I am using at the moment it fails. When doing a manual update it just hangs for ages and then times out with an error.</p>
<p>
The corporate network is likely to have proxies in place, but they are set to autodetect in the default browser. The proxy settings in Bitdefender are set to import from browser.</p>
<p>
I can ping update.bitdefender.com without any problems.</p>
<p>
Is there an issue with BitDefender interpreting the proxy settings when they are set to autodetect?</p>]]>

I ran Vulnerability Scan after today's Windows Patch Tuesday updates and all was good.</p>

BDIS 2015 taskbar icon is Red and White.</p>

vsserv.exe showing 233,194K memory usage.  I think this is an improvement over the last version of BDIS.  Still a lot higher than BD W8 Security vsserv.exe now showing about 13,000K memory usage.</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>This was an issue that I had with my 2013 version of Bitdefender, and have recently updated to Bitdefender 2014 to see that the issue still remains, even though I was informed that updating would remove the issue entirely. That being said, the issue is still present.</p>
<p>
I have tried multiple times to switch the "Auto Update" tab to on, but each time, I am met with a prompt asking for a password, as seen in the attached image. I am not sure why this is, as I have never set a password, on this new version OR on the prior version I had, which as I mentioned also did the same thing.</p>
<p>
If there is anymore information needed, please let me know.</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Downloaded and installed.  The only problem was I had to re-activate the Windows Firewall and reboot for the network adapter area to show.  I then went through the GUI and menu configuring 2015.   Everything went fine except for:</p>
<p>
1.  Vulnerability Scan shows an old version of Skype on my computer which BDIS says needs to be updated.  The problem is that I do not have Skype on my computer.  I did at one time but uninstalled it and deleted all the left over folders and files that I could find.  I even ran a Registry scan and cleanup but BDIS 2015 is still showing I have Skype on my computer.</p>
<p>
2. I can't activate Facebook Proection.  When I click Activate in the GUI it takes me to My Bitdefender dashboard where it tells me to Activate Facebook Proection.  I click on it and it comes back telling me Facebook Protection Not Enabled.  I even tried disabling my Pop Up protection and Chostery but no luck.</p>
<p>
Tried a scan and it was fast.   Everything else seems to be okay but we will have to see how the updates go.  So far no apparent conflicts with MBAM 2.0 Premium</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I have Bit Defender Antivirus Plus - Build 17.28.0.1191 installed on 2 Windows 7 machines - in both cases the process starts up just fine but after a day or so of up-time the services just mysteriously exit with no indication that they have until I get the alert that there hasn't been an automatic update for a day or two.</p>
<p>
If I got to the services control and restart the service everything is fine again for a day or so. Or if I restart again everything is fine again for a day or so (I prefer not to restart these machines and before BD was installed I Was getting 30-50 days of uptime - usually only restarting when Windows Update required it)</p>
<p>
I have tried several things to try and isolate the issue - but these two machines are different with different software loads and it's quite confusing why the same thing would be happening on both. Tried turning off the gadget but that didn't change anything. </p>
<p>
Is this a known issue - is there any fix?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Update through the program did not work.  In fact not only did it not work but there was no Event notification that an update was required.   I found out about the update by reading this forum.   I tried a repair sevearal times but BDIS did not update.  To get the update to BDIS  I had to uninstall two programs and remove .1106 before I got the updated version .1146 installed.   I then had to reinstall the two program that were unstalled and reconfigure BDIS</p>
<p>
After all that the RAM usage is no different than it was with .1106.  Still about 220MB.  </p>
<p>
My overall experience with BDIS which I have used for several months and BD W8 Security which I have used for 16 months is that BD W8 Security is a better product than the New BDIS.   Simpler to use, update and appears to provide just as good security.</p>
<p>
Whether BDIS works better on W8.X than on W7 I can't say but on W7 updates are a real pain in the you know what.  That has been my experience.</p>

<p>
I was using BD2014TS version </p>
<p>
After several hours still no new updates</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>My 2014 Total Security has stopped downloading the virus defs flagging up an error fault 1007.</p>
<p>
my PC win 7 is flagging up that the anti spyware and antivirus is out of date. not a happy PC.</p>
<p>
This never happened with previous versions.</p>
<p>
I have sent two reports to bit defender with  NO reply,</p>
<p>
Is their  a general problem,  have uninstalled and re installed same problem,</p>
<p>
I have grave doubts as to the security of my PC.</p>
<p>
Any advice would be appreciated.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Product updates are important too, like virus signatures, and waiting months for an update in other languages ​​is not good, bitdefender is the only company that does this, every other companys feature updates in all languages​​, I'm still waiting the update 17.27 in Portuguese and if this situation continues I find myself compelled to put bitdefender in English so as to be always updated.</p>
