Activation Date can be different than Purchase Date for different products? - How to merge Bitdefender subscriptions

I am a long time TS user…almost always for 5 devices.

The current install runs until Oct 1 2026 but I saw a good sale for TS for 10 devices and so I bought it. I realize now that these are considered different products ie 5 devices vs 10. So activating the new purchase now will not extend my current subscription to the desired Oct 1 2027.

But if I hold off activating the new purchase until say this September 30 will it then expire on September 30, 2027?

Where did you get the new Bitdefender Total Security for 10 devices from? Did you receive an in-product offer, or a discount via email?
Subscriptions purchased from the official Bitdefender website start automatically on the purchase date, regardless of when they’re activated in your Bitdefender Central account. This means that if the activation code was purchased from the website through that special offer, the validity countdown will start as soon as the order is successful.

If you redeem the new activation code now, since the two products are not identical in terms of devices they can protect, this will create a separate subscription in your Central account, one that will overlap until the previous one expires. The Extend option only appears if your new code matches an existing subscription and the total duration does not exceed 5 years. In some cases (especially for codes purchased from retailers or resellers), the system may automatically combine the subscriptions if they are identical. More on the activation process here:
