To Benefit From Signature Updates After 30 Days Since The Installation, You Must Configure A Bitdefe

Hi!

After I tried to reply on post http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...28443&st=40 I found out that it was already closed and locked.

Though I too have the same problem described in post by other users: my BitDefender Total Security won't update no matter what I tried - and I tried everything that was posted on your forum except what Cristi B. sent via email to Just Bit but with update.

So I need help with same issue and didn't want to open new topic that was for some reason already closed though I have the same problem last few days.

I attached printscreen of my alert and will wait for your response.

Your faithful user for more than 5 years, Urban from Slovenia...

  • Hi

    Please follow the steps explained in the article below and send me via PM the generated log file:

    If you were already asked to generate the log file, disregard the message above and just post the ticket ID.

    Thank you.

  • Hi

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

    In order for Bitdefender 2012 to run smoothly on that machine, please install Service Pack 1 via Windows Update.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/installwindows7sp1

    After this, we recommend you to repair Bitdefender 2012 as follows:

    - Click on the START menu button;

    - Go to (All) Programs -> Bitdefender 2012 -> choose "Repair or Remove";

    - Follow the on-screen instructions and restart the computer each time you are requested to;

    - Register and activate the product, then open Bitdefender and run a new update; reboot again if requested;

    - please test to see if the issue still replicates.

    Should you require further assistance please don't hesitate to contact us. Have a nice day.

  • Hi!

    I followed your instructions to the letter but the issue persists. So I'm sending you via PM new log file I created after all the steps were taken (installed Windows 7 SP1, repaired the BitDefender Total Security 2012 installation, rebooted when asked, configured the account and activated it through the link that was sent to me via email etc.).

    It did actually update when I first pressed the button to manually update (downloaded some 200Kb and didn't ask for reboot, but every other update after that failed like a charm). You can see the print screen also sent with log file to your PM.

    I'm really getting desperate, so I would really appreciate the help needed. Please reply quickly. All you need I posted in your private message.

    Best regards, still hopeful, Urban from Slovenia...

    Like your sense of humor.....

    Mate I would suggest you to revert to 2011 (for the time being) until BD 2012 becomes stable/bug free.

    I had this problem but got never resolved inspite of the efforts from BD Support team (although they were extremely concerned/helpful).

  • Hello

    Please follow the steps from this post and reinstall Bitdefender 2012:

    1. Use our uninstall tool in order to uninstall/delete any previous BitDefender related files:

    http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall

    Access the link and when the window with the BitDefender file appears, please choose the "Save to disk" option. Save the tool on the PC, run it and restart the computer when prompted.

    2. Install BitDefender using the latest installation kit available for download. Please note that you need to download (save) the installation kit prior to running it.

    The BitDefender Antivirus Plus 2012 installation kit can be downloaded from here:

    http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/in...r_antivirus.exe

    The BitDefender Internet Security 2012 installation kit can be downloaded from here:

    http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/in...r_isecurity.exe

    The BitDefender Total Security 2012 installation kit can be downloaded from here:

    http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/in...r_tsecurity.exe

    The installer will automatically retrieve your license key so you will not need to enter it again during the setup.
