[resolved] Hp Officejet Pro 8600
BitDefender 2013 is not allowing me to print to my HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer. When installing the printer with the HP utilities, the system hangs when trying to connect to the printer. It seems to happen when HPNetworkCommunicator.exe is launched and shows up in task manager. Killing this process in task manager results in an error in the HP setup utility that the printer cannot be found and the setup can then be closed, but no printer is installed. Shutting down the firewall has no effect on the problem. After uninstalling BitDefender 2013, the printer installs fine. Once BitDefender 2013 is reinstalled, the problem returns. I have given HPNetworkCommunicator.exe application permission to access the internet. I have set up the Firewall settings as recomended by the sticky note in this forum. If I go into control panel and add the printer from the Add Printer method, I am then able to print to the printer, but the other functions I use regularly such as scan to computer and maintenance functions do not work (HPNetworkCommunicator.exe again). I have the HP installation utility on a laptop running BitDefender 2012 and the printer works just fine including all advanced features on the printer. Any ideas from anyone else on what to do? I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) on a HPTouchSmart 520 PC.

I have the same issue, my Hp officeJect Pro 8600 wireless network was working with Bitdefender total security 2012 but as soon as I installed 2013, my network printer is not printing. I disable the firewall, added the ip address of the printer to my adopter list and select allow, not luck. I have contacted the support deportment and they could give me a solution.
Let me know if you got the solution and I will do the same.

" /> Same problem with HP Photosmart 6510.
Definitely related to HPNetworkCommunicator.exe. Disable firewall, allow IP etc, but printer install still hangs after printer is selected. Only uninstalling Bitdefender 2013 allows install to complete but on reinstall can no longer print.
Please fix this urgently0 -
Have just the same problem with Officejet Pro 8500.
Since I installed BD IS 2013 no more network printing or scanning. Before installation everything worked fine.
Can anybody help ?0 -
Hello
Welcome (back) to the forums!
For the current situation, let's try something.
Start Command Prompt and type the following command:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chdos.htmC:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender 2013\lspregistration.exe /uninstall
* assuming you have installed Bitdefender in the default location, if not adjust the path.
Let me know if you are able to print after this.
Have a great weekend!0 -
Thanks fr getting back to us.
Ok that solves the problem temporarily. Install works, printer works, scanner works. Until reboot then I have to uninstall lspregistration.exe again.
Progress at least.
Have an awesome weekend too.
Cheers.

would be great to have some news on this topic
I was thinking about purchasing a licence, but because of connection problems with my HP 8500 910A via WLAN after installing the 30 days trial, I decided to wait for a fix
I hope the support is looking for a solution0 -
Hello
A product update was released. Your build should be 16.18.0.1406(please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).
Changelog:
