Media Autorun Disabled
I've noticed that Bitdefender has disabled all sorts of media Autorun on my PC, and now I've to go into the CD or DVD< browse its contents and then run setup of the program from DVD, whereas with Autorun enabled, the program automatically, starts the installation of opens the contents of the DVD. Now I've to manually do it.
Is there any way through which Media Autorun can be enabled again? I can't enable it by normal and default options.

Hello
First of all, for your safety, I recommend you to leave Autorun / AutoPlay disable.
Why? You can read all about this feature here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoRun and you have here all the http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-20071962-...utorun-malware/
If you still want to enable it, please click on Settings in the main interface and go to the Antivirus module. Select Vulnerability tab and put Media Autorun to OFF. Don't forget to reboot you PC.
If this is not working, please use the Fix it solution posted here:

Heya Christian.
Yeah, after reading the topic you've linked me, I've preferred to keep the autorun turned off now on my PC. .
Thanks for the reply. Have a nice day.0 -
And also, i've another problem. I can't install any windows updates from microsoft. i also can't install Windows 7 Service pack 1. The installation of SP1 gets stuck at one point and it just won't go forward, and ultimately i have to restart my PC. All updates were working fine prior to bitdefender installation. After installing BD installation, I'm having this update problems.
This is the error I'm getting with windows updates. :0 -
Hello
Have you tried to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 using the standalone installation kit?

Also, for the update issue, there is a fix released by Microsoft that will reset Windows Update to default settings.

Let me know if everything is OK after.

In this case I think there is no related to bitdefender..you can contact microsoft directly for support..
Or you can create a new post for help from the members..
If you stay in US,you can call directly 1-800-MICROSOFT
This support provide live chat, but maybe you will be charged..
and as Christian said, you maybe haven't installed service pack..which provide stable support for ur system..0 -

Yes I did tried installing Service Pack from standalone installation kit as well as windows updates, both options didn't work for me. :S. With installation from standalone kit, the progress bar gets stucked after a certain period of time and ultimately, i have to restard my PC. Whereas, installation of Sp1 from windows updates gives the error code. .
I also tried that reset windows update thing, but it didn't do anything. So, I think I might have to do fresh install of windows, then first install service pack and later on, install bitdefender. that might fix it.0 -
Hi Michael Lead,
If you do decide to reinstall OS, what will be a big decision that had definitely the least popular, but on the other hand, you will allow to solve all your current issues. "Microsoft Tehnical Support" are also recommended this, that you first install SP 1 via Windows Updates and only then install any anti virus software. Real-time protection can be prevent normal installation of SP1. I'm sure you know that SP 1 are strongly recommended for maximum use of all functions of protection by BitDefender, therefore you needed. At the end I would recommend that if you decide to reinstall Windows, you can make and keep "Windows Old" folder. That way you will save a lot of important things (i apologize if this familiar to you).
So, this decision is all yours
