Just a thought Master!, I noticed that you have tried to install Bitdefender on 3 PCs, that we can't get you up and running.

My thought is, to maybe uninstall it (as you have been from Programs and Feature and the uninstall tool) from your "second favorite" PC, leaving it on the other two, and install MSE (light foot print, easy install/uninstall) and re-enable Windows 7 firewall to get you by untill Christian can help. This way, he would at least have 2 log files (if that is what he chooses to do) to read and compare, and you would have a PC that you could do your normal surfing/emailing etc. on until then. Otherwise, I suppose, you could just leave it (Bitdefender) running, but I'm not sure what it's doing scanning protection wise?

    Again, just a thought.

You're welcome Master! What a nice option to have..a MacBook Pro, I'm jealous ^_^

edit: and if it's just the update module, then you're right, all the other av engines are probably ok. You could also confirm that in Process Explorer/Task Manager.

But I want all of them back because......!!! <img class=" />

    Waiting for Christian.........

  • Oh, I would want them all back too, friend ;) Thanks for that update, it's been a long thread, as you know.

    Good morning Chris.

If this helps, but it may not be related to this issue, the situation I reported here about FW

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=36527

happens on the machine where I used your fix for this issue (W7 32 bits).

The fix for this issue did work on my W7 64 bits one.

    Hello :)

I need to clear some things: the reported situation is just a display issue and it doesn't affect the security of the PC.

I have collected the logs from the 2nd PC and forward them to my colleagues.

    Take care.

i'm not sure it's a display issue because i try to repair BD and the isuue to fix was update never been done. So the module is not available and nobody is sure update is performed.

I've two systems, in one I've upgraded to the new Build and in the other I uninstall it thoroughly and re-install it again from the online installation kit. And in both systems the some Modules from the Event Overview and the Settings are disappeared.

i had uninstall/reinstall BDTS 2013 and everything was ok until i received an update requiring reboot and after restart only 5 modules showing update is not one of them.

    jeanluc69s,

That's exactly what happened to me! Everything working fine after reinstall and several reboots; then an update requiring a reboot and back to only 5 modules :(

  • Having just acquired a new 64bit machine, ditched the pre-installed Kaspersky, and successfully, I thought, added BDTS2013 with all modules intact, I now find I am down to just 3 modules on the main board - antivirus, anti-spam (off) and privacy.

The new machine is producing all kinds of red alerts as various items of software get scanned and updates are found.

  • Left it too late to edit ^^

Going back to the old 32 bit machine I see there that I am down to 5 modules:-

Anti-virus, Anti-spam (off), Privacy control, Firewall and Tune-up.

I am having the exact same problem to sins a few days, but only at my laptop with Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit, not at my PC with Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

I try to repair and that didn't help.

I don't want to remove bitdefender en reinstall it for now cause I had to format my laptop before I even could install bitdefender 2013 after removing the 2011 version so I am a bit scared I can't install it again after removal.

The registry solution doesn't seem to work either as I read here so I'll skip it for now.

So I will wait and hope a solution will come fast.

Mean while I will search and follow the topics concerning this problem.

Well that is strange just before I posted this I had to reboot cause something wasn't quit right.

After I posted I went to take a look again in the control panel of bit defender all 9 events are back.

I see I just got a update in just now maybe that solved it.

  • Likewise - on the 32 bit machines, all modules are restored after starting up this morning.

Still down to three modules on the new 64 bit machine.

Well, in my case modules are OK on the 64 bits machine, but they had disappeared on the 32 bits one.

I used Christian's fix (add a registry entry) and they were up on the 32 bits.

Anyhow, it seems they are progressing to kill the bug. Thanks Christian.

I spoke too soon.... after this morning upgrade modules have gone from my 32bits machine (that had Christian's patch installed)

  • WTF? I rebooted 32 bits machine and voilà, modules are here again. Butterfly effect?

  • And I am back down to 5 modules on the 32bit laptop but full complement on the 32 bit desktop - still only 3 on the 64 bit desktop.

  • Here everything is still normal at both 64 bit systems Vista and Windows 7, I

i wish i could say the same but now i don't have nothing.I hope there will be a fix for that situation soon.

  • The Problem is Again Reproducing.

  • This is very frustrating, I have Total Security 2013 and I am unsure if it is updating or not. Now my PC is slower after having this problem, is anyone else experiencing a slow down. I find it hard to believe they haven't found a fix for this yet.

  • The issue disappear after a recent update.

i repaired BD2013 and everything is ok now but for how long that is the question maybe the next update who knows.

  • here is what i got now.

Mine is exactly the same all my stuff has gone again and I had to do a full install re-install last time to fix it.

I'm 23 days into my evaluation and I've uninstalled/re-installed more times than I have with my other internet security in a three year subscription. I don't think I'm going to hand over the money until it's demonstrated to me that this is a stable program. When it works it seems to do what it has to do but the wheels have been falling off far too often.

I think BD needs to lengthen peoples evaluation until they get these bugs sorted...

    Hello :)

Please run a manual update from the main interface or by clicking Update now on the system tray icon(near the clock). After this you will be pormpted to restart your PC, please do that.

The issue with the missing modules should be solved with the patch that we released last night.

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...st&p=152958

Let me know if everything is OK after.

    Have a great weekend!

I had no problems before this 'patch' but now I applied this patch, rebooted and now bitdefender modules are disappearing and interface is freezing all the time. Seriously.. I like this product but sooo many bugs that maybe I've to finally move on to use another antivirus solution.

  • Let me know if everything is OK after.

No good. 6 days until I pack up and move on from BD2013 Beta.

  • Try to apply res patch by Christian, I had to do it on one PCs, I just did it as admin, not in safe mode, all panels are showing up now.

    what patch?

i cant see every downloadable patch in This page.

So if the problem will be fix, just by repairing the BD, it is Painful ! it is Worse.

I wonna to buy license for my new laptop , but I'm disappointed because of this problem :(

please fix it, as soon as possible! :(

    Hi Just Bit :)

That patch you have the link to in your above post, is included in an update. Try updating your Bitdefender, and then restarting your PC, and see if that helps.

I believe that this is the original patch that has been discussed, but I think it is now included in the patch via update install as per this notice: (the one in your post) http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=152958

Today all the OK to me! All BitDefender modules were present. After installing the update automatically, a patch that should solve the problem, to me it reappeared.

After they manage to fix it by reinstalling Bitdefender now after update, 4 of the 9 modules missing again

    A big big disappointment.

Ooops! Perhaps not out of the woods yet. Today the 32bit Windows 7 machine which had all the modules yesterday, booted up today with only 5. The manual update + re-start fixed it.

Bit Defender REALLY need to check their new releases more thoroughly. TS2012 was very bug ridden at the start but then settled down to a good(ish) package. If anything I think TS2013 has had even greater problems. When you sell a program on "How effective can a malware program be if you have to be a rocket scientist to properly use it" [bitDefender website] but then expect users to install patches, operate in safe-mode to work around bugs, and cause firefox to repeated crash, then something is very clearly amiss.

And although Christian is very good when he is here, there are days at a time when there is no help offered on this forum from BD. I would suggest that more than one BD employee needs to monitor these forums. Granted it is mainly those with problems who will be looking here, but the lack of answers is apparent and will be off-putting.

Auto-pilot is currently a far from "hassle-free experience" - in fact many users are currently in "Brace" position!

  • FYI im experience this problem too (module, event, settings not completed), but after reinstall and update, its gone now the module problem (since yesterday). Or maybe because i always use the widget to access the bitdefender panel rather than the icon in the taskbar . Im notice that my settings and event not complete when im click the widget (module fine now but sometimes no setting/event at all), but its fine if im click the icon in the taskbar.

  • I got this problem too, how the ###### are you suppose to update it via update module when you don't have access to it?
