    If BD are serious, and it appears that they are not, about providing Tech support, then it needs more than one person (Christian) to be monitoring the boards and responding. Everyone needs time off, but problems with the package do not respect that, therefore there needs to be more than one BD techie looking here. An often repeated absence of several days is not acceptable.

    lol, thanks for noticing my absence, ozziebear :) In my case, I'm self employed, and really needed to get some work done, as I was spending waaaay to much time here. I will visit here and lend a helping hand when I can, but need to focus on my business...especially in this economy. Hope you're doing well :)

    As Pushkar mentioned, the main help here is Christian, as far as the more weighty issues and product key issues etc. Yet again, thank you for your appreciation for what I do, and when I am here :)

  • Any issues or concerns that anybody has and not getting a prompt response here in the Forum, should be directly addressed to Tech Support, who

    will respond at their earliest.

    Simply click Help and Support on the bottom right corner of the main window, then follow the process!

    If that's not fast enough for you, a phone call will get their attention! :D

    Yes, thank goodness we have other options, thanks for that reminder :) Phone support etc. can help with some of the "easier" issues, that don't require Christian's log file reading :)

    That is part of my dis-satisfaction with Tech Support - on the occasions I have had to use them the problem has not been addressed, there is simply a cut-and-paste type general answer which then has to be followed up again. This forum is generally the quickest way to a) establish there is a general problem, and not just something peculiar to my pc, and b ) solutions get tested and reported on faster than than the response from Tech Support via e-mail.

    Given that this is a forum run by BD, it is not unreasonable to expect it to be checked and responded to on a daily basis.

    Seems you are only allowed one edit! So adding to the above line ...

    This [customer service], as I said on another thread is not uncommon on AV platforms, by improving their response BD could gain considerable kudos in the press on top of the product performance acclaim. An online chat facility could be a useful addition - having just had a problem with an adobe registration when I migrated to a new computer, the chat response was excellent, the problem sorted immediately, and this is the third time I have praised them in a forum.

    I hate to inform you, but Bitdefender is way beyond Beta Stage as it works just fine on every system that I've installed it on!

    I won't deny that there are a few "minor" quirks, but they are usually patched with the regular updates.

    The problems that some of you are experiencing, sad to say, are user related, due to lack of product knowledge and

    experience with software!

    Other problems could very well be hardware related!

    As for Christian's absence, maybe he took a vacation or some time off from having to deal with the numerous problems that get posted

    in the Forums, as some of them would give anybody a major headache! :rolleyes:

    Does the forum is on "AutoPilot Mode" ? :rolleyes:

    @Pushkar Gogte: The Final version of the Bitdefender 2013 has been released, its not in a Beta stage, which however have many issues that were in the beta stage also alongwith the new ones. And this is not a good argument that if there are many problems, no one from the Technical Support bother to reply and by the way the forum is not a place to dump the issues and bugs faced by the users rather to fix them at their earliest (and again their earliest is unfortunately have no short time frame and we've to wait for months to get the fix). <_<

    And we have say now like that "Once upon a time.....I faced the issue which is still unresolved....." :rolleyes:

    OK. Tell me what this inexperienced user is doing wrong:

    1) insert USB memory stick in USB socket;

    2) Open Windows Explorer and select USB stick in device menu;

    3) Right click on USB device to open Context Menu;

    4) Windows Explorer crashes;

    5) Windows looks for solutions and finds none:

    6) Windows Explorer restarts;

    7) Repeat same steps and results in second computer with totally different hardware.

    8) Uninstall BD 2013 and repeat steps, NO issues whatsoever everything works as it should! :rolleyes:

    9) Read In Forum about multiple users with same experience;

    10) Blame myself for not knowing how to operate a computer with Bitdefender 2013 installed! <img class=" />

    Let Me Get To This Point:

    Bitdefender 2012 had 5 Beta Stage released and it took about 6 months for stable released.

    Only problem was slow internet speed with idm and that was solved by both sides within a month.

    Whereas BD2013 had ONLY BETA Stage for A Month And Then It Was Released.

    After Installing BD2013 Some Users Had To Format their PC/Laptop. <_<

    Now With Version 16.21.0.1504 I Cannot even the file is downloading Nor I Can Pause as I Don't see downloading the Issue is not with idm this time as the same occurs with browser in built download manager.

    I Can See File Only After Download Is Finish.

    If It Is Stable released Then It Should Have Been Tested but I Think It's Not. :rolleyes:

    For one, you really need to start your own topic, it will never get answered buried in here.

    Try opening Bitdefender and go to Settings ...then Antivirus .... then the Exclusions tab and then scan usb devices and disable it and restart.

    I think we do need more help on the forums to !

    I have tried all possible combinations on the settings related to the USB scan with no success.

    My current solution is a return to Bitdefender 2012. Everything works as advertised with this version!

    I'll try 2013 again maybe at Christmas :rolleyes:

  • Hi Everybody

    Hold on please...whats going on here?

    Don't argue each other. Everybody have chance of facing similar or different issues depends on the Hardware Configuration, Softwares installed, OS and many other things etc. Sometime the issue is unique.

    The prime concern of this topic is not to pointing that this issue is only faced by you and not by me or by the others, but is to get the support from technical department in proper time in order to fix the issues/bugs we are reporting.

    So its my request to all users not to make clash with each other and be united to ensure to get your problem resolved in a good time and not in months.

    Hope it is clear to all users.

    Good point ONT. No two computers have exactly the same configuration so different people will have different problems on their machines. But getting back on topic, I believe that a forum as active as this one is, needs a full time moderator. Christian does an amazing job here, but everyone needs some time off. There should be a second person from tech support capable of handling the large number of issues which arise.

    I agree with you that the forum should not be looked after by a single person.

  • I agree with you that the forum should not be looked after by a single person.

    People at Bitdefender are not AWAKE. They are just good at collecting peoples money and making them jump through hoops. The way they're doing, i don't think they'll last long. So many people already looking elsewhere. : :)

  • My concern, as in ONT's 1st post, is that Christian is OK. I'm a little concerned for Christian in this sense, as he has had to deal with:

    • A new product version after he, they, had pretty much figured out the 2012 versions bugs.
    • Then he had to build this 2013 web page forum, all the pinned topic etc. etc.
    • Then he has to deal with all the new 2013 bugs.
    • Then the My Bitdefender malfunctions, especially My Bitdefender/Parental Controls page not loading, no Remote Controls etc.
    • Then the server maintenance issue. (never ending download)
    • Of him maintaining 2009-2013 forum web sites (he still has to help people with new license updates with the 2009 free version).
    • Now with Windows 8 and all the issues of a new OS in trying to get it to play nice with Bitdefender.
    • Some of the tweaks and changes that are going to take place with this forum (IP Board) that he has been working on behind the scenes.

    With all this, and what you may notice too, I'm surprised he's still around. Maybe I wasn't too far off in that when he hit 10,000 posts, he may have been ready for some Jack Daniels....in mass quantities, especially with all that is listed above :wacko:http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=152941

    My other concern to help free up Christian's time is to terminate the Old Products Forum, as there needs to be an EOL for some of these products, especially the free V9, as that isn't even real time protection like the other vendors free versions are, so they wouldn't be losing possible revenue by discontinuing that version (it's not a loss leader)

    We absolutely do need another Tech Support mod from Bitdefender here, not only to help Christian live longer, but to get to some of the topics that haven't even been addressed yet, as example Safepay, and the unanswered threads there...as to not take months to get to, or to resolve.

    All the listed dealings are the responsibilities of him for which he paid by the company. 10,000 posts, really huge posting, but of no benefit if the problems remained unresolved for many months. You see on other forums, there are persons from technical support and moderators and from labs and they are many not like here only one person from technical support, no moderator seen and no one from the labs and if they appear, for only once in year. You see that there are very few replies from moderators on the 2012 and 2013 sub-forums. The work should be divided; some take care of old products and some for new products. This is the first forum i see in which the single person is deploy to respond which is also now gone somewhere. one engineer Christian is not enough to take care of the whole home user forum. i see that he is also replying to the Romanian forum in addition to english forum. I'm not blaming Christian, as there is no fault of him, but is the fault of the management team or administration of the forum.

    Your product is Silent but Awake & the support is also Silent but not Awake. :P

    Sorry for bad English and kindly bother not what i said, and develops the forum system better.

    Tried all that, no solution for my total security 2013 registry problem.

    Ridiculous !

    Three evenings wasted on 'possible solutions' and still no results.

    Ask for a refund seems to be the only sensible thing to do now. Go for another provider, in the end selling a good a product is one...supporting it is equally important !

    at their earliest....what are you talking about, if this is their earliest, then how long will be the delay (in years or generations then, i think)? and if everyone has to do phone calls and the bottom right corner clicking, then there is no need of the forum, just abandoned the forum and put it into trash. Not everyone can afford making phones calls and using the product that have bottom right corner options for so called help and support e.g trafficlight problems, online quickscan problems, and previous bitdefender versions which do not have such bottom right corner option.

    So much ignorance for users by the bitdefender support....simply ridiculous. <img class=" />

  • Still no reply from Support. Now we should ask ourself that where we are? And what we are doing here?

    Stop giving them money period! Let them use the product themselves. Now that i know, 100% guarantee i won't use their product. There are so many AV out there.

    It's useless to have no support and full of bugs that can't even solve. It's a shame.

    Didn't you see this http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showforum=294, Christian is also posting on Romanian Forum as well as English forum, that is why only he hits greater than 10,000 posts, I checked that he posted last on 25th Sep, but on Romanian forum. It means that he may also reading our posts in the english forum, but not replying deliberately, the reason may behind that someone other is going to be replaced by him for english forum. I can't understand why the english forum is consistently ignored by the support?

  • Hey! Guys! Look at us:

  • I don't know how in the world this can keep going on with no response from anyone from Bitdefender.

    :wacko:

  • Bitdefender 2011 version have Silent Mode that is user selectable. I suggest similar feature that only the novice and average users which don't want to get any notifications and pop-ups and rely on the product itself to take action by its own can enable the Silent Mode since the User Mode since 2012 version can't accomplish the Advanced User requirements. If the Auto-Pilot Mode is Silent Mode then the User Mode is actually Semi-Silent Mode.

  • Hi Christian

    @Technical Support: If Christian is not available, kindly arrange for the replacement.

    It is quite unbelievable that any reputable company would suddenly stop responding to its customers without any explanation from a company representative. In this day and age, many companies are trying to gain a competitive edge by providing a better level of support than their rivals. Bitdefender ,for whatever reason, has taken the opposite approach. I am beginning to question the reliability of Bitdefender in general. (flashy promotional videos aside). This is NO way to do business gentlemen!
