Problem With Antivirus Plus

Hi,

Yesterday I bought my copy of the product --- a license that lasts for a year and works up to 3 PCs. The first installation was fine, everything worked as I expected but the other two didn’t.

When I try to run the installation kit I get the following error:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bitdefender\Setupinformation\{34480DEE-54D6-4985-A817-CA30E9BBC94C}\lang\pr-BR.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support

[Note: As you may suspect, I'm trying to install the Portuguese version of the software --- I hadn't success with the local support]

Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this annoying problem?

  • Just one note that I forgot to tell: I also tried to install via the offline setup but after the extract of some files one window of a download appears for less than 2 seconds, than close itself and nothing happens after.

    Hi TGraciani, and welcome :)

This one may be out of my league, but the information you provide may help others.

The PC you were able to install Bitdefender on, was it by means of the Online installer ( the 2.3 MB stub installer)?

In your 2nd post, you mentioned that the offline set up files didn't extract. Were you trying to download or install from the full offline version (275 MB)?

What is the OS of the PCs your trying to install Bitdefender on, and do they meet the system requirements (left hand side of web page)?

Did you previously have an AV solution on the other 2 PCs, and used the proper removal tool, and checking folders and hidden folders for any remains of the previous AV?

Hopefully any information you can give, will help us to get this resolved for you.

    Kind regards,

    Scott

  • Yes, I used the online installer.

I beg your pardon, I think I wasn't clear. I downloaded the offline installer. After the double click, it did extract. But after that other window opened asking if I want to download some archives (I don't recall exactly). It didn’t matter what I choose (yes or no), after that another window opened (one that tries to make a download, I'm not sure of what). Only then this last window disappears and nothing happens after that. And yes, it's the big file of 261mB.

Yes, both of then meet the system requirements, both have Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit version) installed.

Yes. In both was used before NOD32 5 (including the PC which I could install Bitdefender). I properly removed NOD32 and clean the register with Advanced SystemCare 6.

    Thank you for your time!

Another note: In one of the other two problematic PCs, I found a way to do the installation process! I used the Removal Tool of the Bitdefender and after that it worked. But the same solution didn't work for the other... The Removal Tool doesn't run (I double-click and nothing happens).

Yes. I used the Bitdefender Rescue CD and found one Trojan (I do not know much about these things but I believe that a Trojan isn't capable of/designed to prevent any software installation...). I guess that the ~true~ solution was to extract the installer.

  • Hello, thank you for your feedback! :)

I am glad that you managed to fix the installation issue.
