Bitdefender Prevents Some Drivers From Loading?

On my Windows XP Home (sp3) x86 computer, a new installation of Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition 1.0.16.1023 causes six "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" not to function (as shown in the Device Manager) following the first reboot and thereafter:

agp440

fasttx2k

PartMgr

PCIIde

SISAGP

ViaIde

The associated error log in the Event Viewer shows that five of the six fail to load at startup. Bitdefender (during it's boot-time scan, I'm guessing) seems to prevent the drivers from loading, as the drivers load normally when Bitdefender is not installed. Installing and running Bitdefender before rebooting does not cause the drivers to fail; the driver problems occur following the first re-boot and thereafter. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Bitdefender a couple of times, and the drivers problems only exist when Bitdefender is installed.
