Bitdefender 2014 Instal Problem,

Hi,

I've bought a key for the 2014 bitdefender total, as I did not have any antivirus.

When I tried installing it, it hits an error that says in short Bitdefender cannot uninstall mcafee, I had mcafee on this laptop when I bought it new it came on it, never used it.

I cannot uninstall mcafee, impossible those rats just put crap on your pc and make it impossible to remove it, tried the mcafee uninstaller, but it would not work cause of anti theft, Intel AT, where i never signed up for so I cant actualy log in to the site to undo or remove it. I dont actauly have any program on my pc that has the name mcafee in it or Intel AT, mcafee anti theft.

Is there a way to go around this so I can install bitdefender to install it? Since I dont actauly have any other party running there should be no problem whit double protection or such kind.

Thanks in advance,

    Hi.

You may still have remnant files/registry entries for the sofware you mentioned.Try using a software to delete all of them, for example Revo Unistaller - you can get a 30 days trial version for it and it will take care of any existing entries that don't allow you install Bitdefender.Use the program offline(don't be connected to the internet) so that the anti-theft system, from McAffee, can be deleted with success.

    Best of luck.

    Welcome to the Bitdefender forums.

If you still need help, please post back a Windows registry export. I will check the registry left by the other security solution and I will guide on what exactly needs to be manually deleted.

Upload the data on a file server of your choice such as http://www.speedyshare.com/ , http://www.sendspace.com or http://www.fileconvoy.com and then reply back with the download link, so I can retrieve it.
