Password To Change Technical Settings

Hi, I have contacted Bitdefender 3 times over the last 3 weeks via the Bitdefender Widget - Support on my desktop but I have not received one reply. What is the point in having that service there if no one replies to it?

I forgot the password to the General Settings (not the online Bitdefender Account) and since I did not receive a reply I decided to re-install BItdefender. I chose this method when Bitdefender asked me if I would like to uninstall or re-install. This did not work as after the re-installation the password remained.

Then I decided I would completely remove Bitdefender and re-install it afterwards. However that did not work either as when I installed it it recognised that I had a valid license and also the password remained.

So no I'm wondering why does the service to completely uninstall it exist if that isn't what happens? People pay money for your product and you treat them like fools.

Since I have time remaining on the license I paid for I wish to use it up before changing to a more respectful company.

Please provide the correct solution on how to reset my password.

Regards,

Sponnie

    Hello Sponnie,

This is odd as when you send in an email contact you receive (or should receive) an automated reply almost straight away - you say that you haven't? Just to double check you are contacting Bitdefender on this email -

    Email: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/contact-us.html

(there is also a chat and phone contact -

    Phone: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/consumer-phone.html

    Chat: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/chat-support.html )

You do need direct contact as resetting your password is a security setting. The password is retained in your Windows files otherwise it would be too easy bypass if your computer fell into the wrong hands,

  • Hi Ro,

thanks very much for replying and the information you provided.

When I contacted Bitdefender it was via the Widget on the desktop. It asked to take a scan of my system so it could upload all the relevant information to the support team. The scan took over 30 mins each time. Then I was aksed to input what the problem was and that was sent, I got a message saying I would be contacted shortly but have received no replies.

I just tried to use the Live Chat in the link you provided but understandably there is no one available at the moment so it gave me the opportunity to send the same query via email and I chose that. An automated ticket was sent to my email address so that is a good sign. Hopefully I'll get a reply within a couple of days.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Sponnie
