Odd Issue With Bdts 2015 (settings Turning Off By Themselves)

I have recently formatted my laptop and reinstalled everything, instead of using bdts 2014 as i have been for a long time, i thought i'd install 2015 and see how it goes.

Ive run trend house call which find no issues on my laptop, but twice now (in the couple of days its been installed) i have found settings have either turned off or set to custom without my knowledge.

yesterday it seemed fine, i then installed a graphics driver, not sure if it was due to this, but after i restarted my laptop i noticed it said there are problems to fix, i looked at the settings and on access and active virus scanning were both disabled, firewall was disabled and intrusion detection was disabled, i cant put them on as when i try to nothing happens, so i done a repair install which seemed to fix the issue.

Today all of a sudden a very similar thing, intrusion detection is off, active scanning is off but on access scanning is still on although was set to custom, i noticed scan boot sector was turned off. firewall is also still on.

So hat is going on, i am happy with trend house call and trust that when it says my laptop is clean that it must be, its something ive always relyed on when i have issues.

Im not sure if i should revert back to 2014?

Can anyone help?

Thanks

James

  • anyone, this keeps happening every few days to me with the 2015 version, i always have to do a repair install to fix it, when i click fix in the program to turn everything back on it always says failed, so i do a repair and that fixes it for a few days, then it all disables again :(

  • I don't have an answer except to say it's corrupted. Why, I don't know. That kept happening to me when I was OCing and getting BSODs, BIS couldn't cope and went stupid so I always had to remove and reinstall.

Maybe try and remove it complete and reinstall from scratch.

  • Very disappointing to install the new database and see that it is useless to set it up because the chosen settings are not saved. Shameful a big mistake!

    Hello,

    Please switch off Autopilot first.

Then, choose Standard from the drop-down menu of Profiles.

Keep running Bitdefender like this for a couple of days and let me know of the outcome.

  • But using the default it is not possible change settings, such as adding priority programs.

The intrusion detection system is also not saving the selected settings.

Even the antivirus settings sometimes return to the default.

I hope these bugs are fixed soon.

    Thank you for listening.

I too experience this, IDS returning back to "Permissive" when previously select "Medium". This happens when rebooting the PC and everytime I turn it on during the day for the first time. I believe it has something to do with Profiles which are also very buggy.

I realize it's a new version, but it seems that with each passing version, more and more bugs are introduced :(

    Cheers,

  • I have now reverted back to BDTS 2014 and after 2 weeks of it running fine, the settings on that are also now also turning themselves off, it keeps telling my to fix problems and when i click fix it just says failed, basically if i try and switch from auto pilot to manual it just auto turns back to auto pilot, my active virus control is off, my on access is set to custom which i havn't set, my IDS is turned off, and all of them i cannoy turn back on unless i do a repair.

The thing is i keep running trend house call scans and also malwarebytes scans and both keep telling my i have no problems.

This is really starting to bug me :(

  • And what a surprise ... no response from bitdefender. <img class=" />

  • there is a way you can use the profile settings and not put the pc to sleep

if you go to the profile settings you must to the settings for game and movie

there you must take the v from the last line with the powerplan in it and then your pc won't go to sleep every time

i had the same problem for 1 week until i found that settings was the couse of my problem

now i am stil using the profile settings

  • It's really awful that even today, since the date of release of bitdefender 2015, still have not fixed this problem of profiles.

And the most impressive in my opinion, as they could launch such a buggy product?

Finally, as they could not be bothered to take a position so far?

    Difficult to understand....
