Bitdefender detecting Windows Store apps as MALWARE

Starting today (16th Dec 2017) my Bitdefender has started detecting my Windows Store games as being malware and deleting them (not even being kept in quarantine when I click to view the quarantined files) and are corrupting the installations. I have no idea why this is happening and it's infuriating since I have hundreds of pounds worth of Windows Store games that I can't seem to play.

Please can I get an explanation and have this fixed? Thank you.

Happened to me and corrupted the game(forza) so had to redownload 100GB to get it to start again. I have turned off advanced threat defense since. Its worrying that it still isn't fixed, I guess I wont be renewing my sub.

  • Hello,

Please contact our support team via bitsy@bitdefender.com with the logs from the Bitdefender System tool and a screenshot with the detection.

  • advanced threat defense is overzealous and there isnt a proper way for user to whitelist apps. My ubisoft and cheathappens got wiped out by this until I uninstall it.
