Services not responding


All of a sudden Bitdefender Free stopped working and when I open it, I get Services not responding and to restart your pc. I've done this twice and uninstalled and reinstalled Bitdefender. It doesn't seem to fix it. 


Any suggestions?

    Same here, just happened. Could it be related to Windows Update KB4023057? That installed just before I noticed Bitdefender Free was not working.


     


    Edit: I uninstalled the update, restarted and Bitdefender still says 'services not responding'.


  • That makes sense. I'll check other computers that are running Bitdefender and see if it stopped on them as well.


  • If I reboot with my internet connection disabled Bitdefender runs fine. When I connect again the error occurs.


  • Same problem here.I reinstalled it but when I want sign in to it and got "unable to connect to the server".

    The issue has been fixed, an update has been deployed.


    You should see something like this: C:\Program Files\Bitdefender Antivirus Free\web\guster\guster_00178_068\. Version 177 is the buggy one, version 178 is fine. 


    The regular update interval (performed by a different background service is at 1 hour). However, you bypass this by rebooting. Five minutes after reboot you will receive an update, check for version 178. If services are still not responding, run this command from and admin cmd/powershll: net start vsserv.

    Sorry but I still have the problem after about 2 weeks and Bitdefender has tried to help but now does not communicate with me. I could not find the "guster" at 0178....


    How can I get back to Total Security 2018?  I don't have time for this and if I cannot get back to 2018 I'll go elsewhere.
