Repeated messages to reboot after update

As the title says, I've been getting repeated messages from Bitdefender to reboot my PC (win 7) every couple of hours or so to reboot after an update. I did reboot a few times but the message keeps reappearing. I've tried changing the language away from and back to english and also reinstalling the program (free version) as suggested in other threads for similar problems but that has not helped.
