  • Hello.

I'm unsure if that message is actually triggered by an infection, it's hard to tell what's happening there solely based on the available information, but I think this support article from Google might be a place to start:

Let us know if this helps and if you are also using an active VPN connection when this message appears.

  • I went to the link you sent
    Sometimes I get a reCAPTCHA most times I don't
I am not using a VPN.
I'm using the same router as the rest of my family but they are not getting any problems
I'm investigating through my anti-virus provider's support whether I'm infected

  • Ok. By "investigating through my anti-virus provider's support" you mean Bitdefender Support, yes?

  • yes the "support" is official Bitdefender,
The initial response from Bitdefender was "the attachment you sent was unusable (doesn't show anything)"
It was a screenshot of the "Why did this happen" Screen. So I sent the following to Bitdefender support yesterday:
    —————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
You say “The screenshot you provided is unusable(doesn't show anything)”
I don’t understand why you say “(it doesn’t show anything)” I have attached it again in case you meant “you couldn’t open it”
What that previous screenshot shows is the response from clicking on the underlined purple link “why did this happen?” which you can see in “1 Todays screenshot” attached.

    Attached files:
1 Todays screenshot shows the result of typing -  “Antonyms of the word extinguisher” enter
2 todays screenshot shows the result of clicking on the underlined purple link “why did this happen?” [shown in 1 Today screenshot]
Bitdefender uptodate shows my antivirus has been, and is, up to date.

I’m using Safari on my Macbook Pro.
the other computers using the family router are not affected.
The problem is not always on.  It occurs randomly.

When the problem appears sometimes, I get a reCAPTCHA but clicking “I’m not a robot” or the other one (click boxes with..)
has no effect I still cannot search for anything but can open a bookmark in the same tab.

Most times I do not get a reCAPTCHA at all.
When I am blocked by google on Safari I can open Google or Google chrome directly and search without a problem

I visited the site “Resolve Google Search’s "Unusual traffic from your computer network" message”
but is was no help and it pointed to Malware. Which is why I contacted Bitdefender support.
    —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
I Haven't received a reply from Bitdefender yet.
As I reported the problem is random (or intermittent) because while responding to Bitdefender I had the problem but later last night it Safari worked normally but today was back but now it is gone again.

  • last line should read
while responding to Bitdefender I had the problem but later last night Safari worked normally but today it was back but now it is gone again.

  • That's curious.. I say keep the discussion with the support teams and if possible, keep us informed about the evolution of the case.
