I find Bitdefender internet security licences available on Amazon. Could I purchase them? Will they still be valid or upgraded to Total product as I heard internet security has been discontinued.
Well, the Bitdefender Internet Security product will get upgraded to Bitdefender Total Security automatically once you run the inbuilt update, since Bitdefender Internet Security is no longer available as a product. I would still say that you should not take any chances and first contact Bitdefender support for your query.

I agree with @Flexx in contacting BD Support, as it could be a possible glitch thing with the version purchased and what may or may not be validated with the Amazon key, due to the discontinued I.S.

Hello. The Internet Security subscription has only been discontinued on our end, meaning we no longer sell it on our official website. However, you can stll find it at resellers/partners and it will not be upgraded, it will still be Internet Security.
So internet security as a product is still valid!
I purchased the internet security licence for 3 years and I can still download the product. How come internet security is still active while the forum says the contrary.
Because we tend to follow "the letter of the law", in what was officially announced, just to make sure the members are aware of, and of what we know and understand.
But, I haven't seen the reseller option before until you mentioned it. Maybe, there is a resellers grace period? Maybe one day, you will automatically upgraded to Total, unless your subscription will be in force until you need to renew it? @Alexandru_BD may know more behind the scenes information.

As per the response received from the Support teams, the Internet Security subscription has only been officially discontinued on the Bitdefender website, meaning that you can no longer enroll in a subscription for this particular product there. However, licenses that may still be available at various resellers and Bitdefender partners, or the official Bitdefender store on Amazon are not part of this migration flow to Total Security and not subject to "forced" discontinuity. In places where they are still available, they can still be purchased. For the record, these licenses are not automatically renewed, and I assume that at some point in time, they will be exhausted, thus Internet Security will eventually disappear naturally from vendors that still have it in stock. But if you already got it, then you can of course use it until it expires. 🙂

Thanks @Alexandru_BD. However, I believe the product itself would continue to be supported and not abandoned in the future.
But honestly, in my opinion, this really isn't the way the product should be handled. If there is an upgrade, it should happen for everyone. It’s weird that someone would see I’m using Bitdefender Internet Security, yet it's nowhere to be found on the Bitdefender website. Am I using a fake or malicious version? There are many things to suspect when the product itself doesn't even show up on the official website.
Exactly my worry. I didn't even know that Internet Security was not a mainstream product until I saw a comment on Amazon which was written in 2025.The upgrades or consolidation of products should be uniform across. If the website says internet security is not longer available then it should be upgraded to Total. I have seen other AV vendors do it then why not Bitdefender? I am not trying to be a critic but just a feedback.
