Virus Causes Internet Explorer To Open Up 38 Windows

I got Bitdefender Internet Security 2009 installed in my computer. Its not blocking this virus which causes to open multiple windows in internet explorer. The more you close the more that open . I bought this in hope that it detect all kind of viruses. Help would be appreciated

    For start please try to run a BitDefender Deep System Scan . Open BitDefender , go to Advanced View then click on the Virus Scan tab . Right click on Deep System Scan and choose Scan Now . After the scan is finished click on the "Show Log File" button and in a new Internet Explorer window the scan report should be displayed. Click on File->Save As and save the scan report on your desktop .


    After you do this , follow the instructions provided in the next BitDefender article : http://kb.bitdefender.com/KB490-br--The-sy...s-infected.html and run the Avis and the Gmer tools . After the reports are generated please go to :http://www.sendspace.com/ and upload the files that we need to look on:the Deep System Scan scan report , the Avis and the Gmer report . After that post here the download links .

    You do not need to run a scan with Avis . Here is what you have to do :


    1. Run Avis , select the "Update" module from the left , click on the "Update now" button and allow the process a few moments to download and apply the changes; The tool might reload;


    2. Select the "System Info" module from the left and check that the "System log type" is set to "Complete (Recommended)";


    3. Click the "Create log" button to start generating the log; A small window will appear displaying a progress bar indicating that the tool is creating the report;


    4. When the small window disappears then the report is complete and a new file named "bd_sys_log.xml" has appeared on your Desktop;


    5. Upload the "bd_sys_log.xml" file on : http://www.sendspace.com/ and post here the download link .

    I still say my solution would have fixed it and I thought the idea was to help people. I guess its not.

    When will I get the virus analysis report? Internet explorer continues open multiple windows and its happening every now and then. I will stop using internet explorer.

    We have analyzed the scan log that you have submitted . Besides 2 files that were found infected , all the other items were detected as password protected files . These files are legit and they do no represent a threat to the security of your system . You can find a description about these type of files here : http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...sword+protected . Bellow you will find the instructions that will help you remove the items that were detected as infected :


    1. Disable the BitDefender real-time protection and/or any other active security solution(s) that you are using;


    2. Browse and delete the following file(s):


    D:\downloads\java gui inteface builder\Java_GUI_builder_1.3(1).rar


    D:\downloads\java gui inteface builder\new_rs_lock_accounts_for_share.rar


    3. Empty the Recycle Bin;


    4. Enable the real-time protection.


    If you fell that these files are legit and they were falsely detected by BitDefender as infected , please upload them here: http://www.sendspace.com/ so that we can remove the detection , if is the case .

    Does bit defender int security 2009 protect my pc for sure? My pc still continues to freeze every now an then.

    What about the scan I did with the avis? It showed lot of trojans in my pc.

    Please tell us under what circumstances is your computer freezing , when you try to run a scan or simply when you browse to the Internet or perform any other actions on your computer .

    Regarding the infections that you used to have on your system . If you have deleted those files , you should not have any other malware issues. To be sure that your computer is clean , run Avis and Gmer one more time , upload the reports on :http://www.sendspace.com/ and post here the download links .

    I cant find some of these files on my computer and I dont know why. I read instrucations about archiving the files and protecting them with password. I am able to find only 4 of those files.
