Ok - Where's My Response To This Issue ?
Two weeks ago I posted on the forum about a Full System Scan that was running without being scheduled. Now after not receiving any response to the logs that were requested and sent...I have disabled/removed any and all scheduled scans but this phantom scan is still running at the time previously included in the logs that were requested.
How do I STOP this scan from running...please respond.

[solved] Unscheduled Scan, AV Scan started without reason
Hope you have better luck with BD than I did.

Thanks...went to the General window but there is no "General-->Optimization" tab...searched BD help for "Optimization" but nothing came up. Did note tho that I have BD Internet Security 2011 and the post was for BD Antivirus 2011...don't know if that makes a difference ?
jpg from referred post and my system attached.
Is the Optimization window/page available in BD Internet Security 2011 and where ? I haven't been able to find "Run task when system is idle" in any window ?
Thanks...TR0 -
Hi Timin,
Keep in mind that opening multiple topics will only confuse and prevent me from providing you with an answer as soon as possible. You have posted in few topics, regardless of what I keep saying every time: do NOT post in a topic except if you have THE SAME issue with the same details (PC architecture, Operating System, BitDefender product etc). It's normal that you haven't found the Optimization tab because in Internet Security it does not exist.
Also be kindly informed that the analysis may take several days, depending on the complexity of the issue being work on.
I have already created a ticket on your behalf and sent instructions on your Yahoo email. Please check your inbox and reply with the requested files.

Thanks Dan...as you may have noticed I am having multiple problems with 2011. Worked fine for a couple days after tech support recommended upgrading to 2011 a month or so ago...but then multiple issues have been increasing. Already have the sysdump.exe tools and will follow up now ?
Hopefully we can clear some of these issues up...more than willing to accept issue might be on this end....but I changed nothing and have nothing I can find regarding other spyware/malware/antivirus programs anywhere I can find and nothing I can find in the registry ? Don't remember installing anything other than Bitdefender 2010/2011 Internet Security since setting up Win 7 Pro 64bit this spring ?
Yes I used the recommended BD uninstaller when I went from 2010 to 2011.
While yes I have a couple separate issues open that's because I have separate issues that are causing problems...and in searching the forums for answers...I find others with the same or vary similar issues.
Hopefully you can find something in the logs I have submitted and/or the sysdump.tar file to help solve these issues.
Thanks...TR
p.s. Yahoo would not allow the tar file to be send in response to your email on trouble Ticket ID:201010231005974...did upload it thru the link you provided.0 -

Hi,
Did you check the next post for instructions on Total Security? I know Antivirus and Total Security have slightly different UI layout. I'm not entirely sure if Total Security is structured the same as Internet Secuiry so I apologize in advance if I'm leading you in circles.

No need to apologize...any help I can get on this is appreciated. Like many I'm afraid...I have spend hours and hours trying to keep my system from having to restart...yesterday I had to reboot to enable BD services SIX times..it appears almost always after an "auto-update" !?
This is a Win 7 Pro 64bit system...have BD Intenet Security on 5 PC's in the house...this is the only 64 bit system...and has by far the most issues with BD. I am considering doing a complete reinstall of my system from scratch because of these issues...which is multiple days of time on the PC...hoping to get BD working reasonably stable. Really a shame because I really like over-all the program...the constant "Sorry...please restart" tho is really aggravating. The other 4 PC's also have this "Sorry...please restart" issue...but much fewer occurrences than my main 64 bit PC.
What link "Did you check the next post for instructions on Total Security?" are you referring to please...I am running Bitdefender Internet Security...but I too don't know if the issues are related to Bitdefender in general or specific versions of BD.
Oh my...amazing...I just restarted the PC after another freeze overnight when I "woke up" the PC and the only thing I have done is go on IE to check/post here...and now I see the grayed out BD icon again with a restart message !!!??
Thanks again for trying to help....TR0 -
Hi,
I meant the next post under the topic link [solved] Unscheduled Scan, AV Scan started without reason in my first reply. The poster pointed out the UI difference in Total Security.
Hope that helps0 -
Progress maybe...I changed the settings for auto-update to check for and download updates but allow me to manually install updates. Since that time about 8:30 am today I have not had a "please restart" and/or grayed BD icon !
So far so good...will post back later today or let the system run overnight and see what happens in the mornning...?
Thanks....TR0
