Has anyone found that BitDefender stops the Mac from shutting down on macOS Sierra?

I did the upgrade to Sierra a couple of weeks ago, and also at the same time subscribed to BitDefender. However, now I'm finding that the Mac doesn't always shut down - it sometimes sits with a blank dark screen (but you can see that it's slightly lit, so I know that it hasn't shut down) or with the mouse pointer busy spinner continually spinning. I have a feeling it's BitDefender that is contributing to this, because one time the BitDefender "Mac is safe" window was displayed while the shutdown process was frozen. I had to switch the Mac off by holding down the OFF button.

Hi!

Every BD TS 2016 restart or shutdown, which are very slow, makes my Windows 10 Pro x64 dirty message in eventlog (error ID 6008) thus making my PC starting checking filesystem on startup. Both operations take a lot of time and instead of few second. Uninstalling BD solves the problem. ESET is working fine with my machine. Anybody has some ideas what it might be? Thanks in advance.

Best
