However, my new PC is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday - so, I have decided to try BD 2019 right off the bat and stop the automatic McAfee Installation if I can. I will let ya know how it goes. When I recently got my new Dell PC it similarly came with McAfee, so I went…

Glad to hear that it went well! Not sure what exactly happened with your other PC to cause the OS corruption and you may never know but…
  • Not certain that the versions are the same between products, but my installation of BD Internet Security 2019 is build 23.0.8.20 . It has fixed the Vulnerability scan issues as well as decreased RAM usage compared to the initial version I had installed.
  • In the Windows notification area (bottom right of screen) you should have a BD icon, and if you right click on it select About to see the build.

Can't you reinstall your Windows OS (still a big hassle) rather than having to buy a new PC? If you've determined there's a hardware…
  • I have to admit I didn't recognize the file name either so I cheated, I use StartIsBack and was able to open the file location of Safepay from my start menu to find it. You can see the build (currently 23.0.8.20) by right clicking on the BD icon in the notifications area and selecting About.

  • Sorry about that, you're correct that a shortcut to Safepay was not automatically created. Just figured out a way for you to create one... If you open File Explorer you can access the BD Safepay program on your hard drive (i.e. C:) under Program Files/Bitdefender/Bitdefender Security in the file named "obk". You can then…

  • I had one on my desktop after I did the install, but you should be able to create one manually. If you right click on Bitdefender Safepay which should exist in your Bitdefender Security program folder just select "Send to" > Desktop (create shortcut). Hope this helps!

  • You can upgrade to the 2019 version of your BD product with your current license, either by following the uninstall/install process explained /index.php?/topic/79302-how-to-upgrade-to-2019/" rel="">here or by waiting a bit (likely a couple of weeks) until the update will be automatically made to your existing install. I…
  • I had installed BD IS 2019 when it was first released, but today just updated to the latest version Build 23.0.8.20. It's fixed some bugs (related to Vulnerability Scan) and also significantly reduced idle RAM usage. Very pleased with BD IS 2019, especially considering how early it is in the release cycle knowing that it…
  • Wow, very glad I took the time to install the latest update. Not only did it fix the vulnerability scan issues but my total idle BD RAM usage is way down, nice job BD programmers!!!
  • Yes you can upgrade to BD 2019 with your current subscription, but if you choose to do it now you should follow this procedure. (You will lose your settings, backup any Wallet data before uninstall!) If you wait (likely a couple of weeks) the update will be made to your existing installation automatically. They're still…
  • Alright, I gave in and performed the uninstall/reinstall procedure again. Guess that's the price you pay for being an early adopter; fortunately I'm semi-retired!

  • Really don't want to do all that and lose my settings again... If we wait until that update is released for automatic install would that resolve the issue or are all those steps still required? TIA!

When I try to download it, it gives me a link which points me to Total Security version but I don't want it, I have Internet Security version and I don't want to pay for an upgrade to higher version. I recall the same thing happened to me, but when installed it activated…
  • My understanding is that Autopilot is now the default mode in BD 2019, I'm not sure that it can be disabled as was possible in previous versions. From their 2019 product announcement: "With the 2019 line, Bitdefender adopts a more pro-active role as your Security Advisor, a completely new approach to Autopilot technology…
  • Just found an easier method to upgrade from an earlier version of BD to 2019 on this support page.

  • @chinnavignesh - I did notice that BD 2019 flagged some uninstalled Windows updates which don't apply to my system, but I read that's a known issue and may be what you're referring to. I just ran Windows update to ensure I have all applicable updates installed and ignored the BD warning. When you uninstall BD 2018 as…
  • Just completed an uninstall of 2018 and installation of 2019 version through BD Central. Went without a hitch and so far so good... Thanks to all who responded!
  • I read that the auto update to 2019 versions is expected to be rolled out sometime in August according to what the beta testers were told.
