  • Hi Stu, are you looking for a way of doing a backup of the BOX's settings? If so, this is possible. You simply have reset BOX to factory settings by pressing the reset button and NOT use the Remove BOX option from the Central app. This way, you will only be resetting the Bitdefender BOX and not the devices that were…
  • Hi, To give you straight answer, if you set up BOX using the “I have a router” flow and put your existing router into AP mode, then the maximum filtered traffic throughput between the BOX LAN port (connected to your router-turned-AP and your devices) and the BOX WAN port (connected to your ISP) is: • ~930 Mbps download •…

  • Hi, Straightforward UPnP is not secure because the router opens ports without the users knowledge and this is the main reason why it was not implemented in BOX so far. At the moment we are looking for safe ways of implementations and for sure we will have it available in a future update. Thanks!
  • Hi, BOX broadcasts both 2.4 and 5 Ghz WiFi networks in the same SSID (WiFi name) and depending on your devices capabilities, they will connect to the 2.4 or 5 Ghz. Support for Guest WiFi is on our roadmap and will be implemented shortly through a firmware update. Thanks!

  • BOX 2 has some new security features like Exploit prevention, Anomaly detection, Sensitive data protection, Brute-Force prevention that aren't yet implemented into NETGEAR routers but will be at a latter time. Also, not all NETGEAR routers will have BOX technology embedded into them, only a selected range.
  • Hi, could you tell us more about the things you would like to change on BOX so that we can have a better understanding?
  • Not specifically but you can Pause Internet access for specific devices from the Bitdefender Central app.
  • Hi, could you please provide me with the email address you used for the BOX setup through a direct message so that I can take a look at the account?
  • Hi, you can block Internet access by tapping on the device in question from the Bitdefender Central app and then on the Pause sign.
  • In case you only own the modem/router from Comcast, I recommend installing BOX by cloning the existing WiFi broadcasted by the modem/router. More information regarding this setup flow can be found here:
  • Hi, BOX uses an AI engine to interpret and identify if a connection is malicious or not. Through its anomaly detection engine, BOX can see if a specific device behaves erratically and it case it does, it will block the connection.
