Yeah, I finally broke down and uninstall/reinstall it is working fine now.

I'm having the same trouble using 2010 and XP, my Windows 7 box seems to be ok though. I tried using the supporttool which basically does nothing, no window, prompt, or reboot or anything just goes away.
