This has happened to me as well and restarting multiple time has not helped. I have used BitDefender for years on XP machines without issue. If this isn't addressed and fixed soon I will have to abandon BitDefender on Vista. Still can't get the service started. Can't scan, can't do anything. Anyone have an idea???

Hello Quick Mode, Sometimes, the protection gets disabled after a Product Update (not after a Signature Update!). The fix is restarting your system, so that BD can load the new files. Cris.
