Apparently, i was too quick to announce this fixed. A reboot resets the settings, so this is NOT FIXED. The switches say "off" but the settings are reset. The only way for me is a quick on-off toggle with all the switches and it stays gone for the duration of the session. How nice.

Hmm. After updating previously for many, many times... Five minutes ago after an update and a reboot - the controls worked and turned off the feature. This was apparently fixed. Sorry for wasting your time - thanks to the person responsible for fixing the "feature".
