From: Major Update Causes Bd Connection Problem
Hello AndreiRC,
We are close to release a fix, but until then, we need make some tests so that we can be sure of the resolution. I know that you are using BitDefender Antivirus 2010 . If possible, try to perform the steps bellow and let us know if the update works after that :
1. Start your computer in Safe Mode :
- restart the computer;
- repeatedly press the "F8" key several times before Microsoft Windows begins
to load (you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu);
- select "SAFE MODE" in the text menu and press "Enter".
- wait while Windows loads in Safe Mode; this process ends with a confirmation
message; click "Yes" to acknowledge.
2. Browse to the next location : C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Update Service and look after the file "wsdns.dll" .
3. Rename it in "wsdns1.dll", reboot your PC and then try to update BitDefender.
Let us know what happens.
Note: These steps can also be applied by the users that have disabled the BitDefender Firewall and still had the same update error .
