In my case I have to re-enable "Scan SSL" under web protection. As per usual this also stops Thunderbird from working. So I re-disable it again.

Works for me in Windows 10 64 bit. Remove any application that periodically scans your hard drive. Uninstall/reinstall bitdefender.
