This has been an ongoing issue with BIS 2010. I have formatted my hard drive and installed a fresh copy of windows xp with all the latest updates and I still have problems of BIS 2010 not responding randomly. This is one reason why I have not recommended this product to anyone. Who wants an internet security to stop…

Yet again ANOTHER problem done by bitdefender. Why does it seem like every few months I'm back here seeing major problems I encounter with new updates to this program. Please bitdefender do your testing BEFORE you release these updates.
-
@DanyDan: I have contacted you all about this already and I sent my file in. They told me to uninstall and reinstall BD. Did that and problem still persisted. So then I formatted my hard drive. (Because I thought their may be traces of past internet securities I have used on there.) Then did all windows updates and…

WOW!! what a surprise. Another super popular problem with this program. I have been having this issue for over 4 months now and have tried everything to make this work as good as the 2009 version. (including a clean installation of windows xp sp3.) Today i'm tossing this POS out the window and getting something else. I…

its asking me to pick a date to restore from. I assume just spend the $40 and not have to deal with this anymore. Here is another screen shot of what it will look like once you open the recovery program. See works Click that and you should be good to go!

This is so annoying.... I talked to some tech guy he told me they would send a email even in the email it says that the steps that are posted on these forums for a fix with downloading that stupid patch does not work and guess what their reply was. Download that same thing THAT DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. Bad customer service…

I don't think mine came with any, its a gateway, so maybe they don't give u the software? Yeah I have four gateways and they give you the software. Sometimes you have to make your restore discs when you receive the computer. Most of the time though there is also a restore partition on the hard drive. If you go to the start…

I thought I was in the clear but it looks like i lost Microsoft Works, how do I get it back? I know I can buy it but I don't want to have to buy since it came with vista. To restore microsoft works, the disc should have came with your pc. Look in the package for the microsoft works disc.

nanny, are you using the computer that you are asking about to post here? When you first go on your computer, you see a background picture of some sort correct? I have attached what my desktop looks like. Yours will be similar with it's own background pic (the dog) with the icons on the left side. You need to find the one…

Does anyone know where i can get a download for win 7 home premium. This is one of the problems I have with having to reinstall windows. I built this computer last year and added vista as the OS. When win 7 came out i put the home premium on it however that did not have the options that I really needed to have so I used…

I just got this computer from Best Buy and it has Windows. I don't know what version I don't know if it is backed up. How can I check that? Press start and right click on computer. Press properties and it should give your windows version. If you just recently purchased the computer it probably has windows 7. Check to see…

What I'd like to know is why is it called fake alert 5? It does not exist anywhere else besides here. Anyone know why it's called that?
-
It's impossible to find the information on the forum because everything is moving so quickly. At least this thread seems to be accessible. I've tried everything I could find so far to get my computer to boot up again. I tried every option on the Windows 7 repair options when booting from the CD. I have no restore points. I…

Ok enough of all the rules from EU and suing this company for this or that. What I want to know bitdefender is when are you all going to fix this problem? I have not been able to turn on my windows 7 machine because I'm afraid this may happen to it. Good support or not this should have been resolved by now. Have you all…

I have to disagree. A failed ISP is just as expected as a failed detection of a virus or making a false positive. But maybe not for everyone, what can I say... This isn't the first time an antivirus has made a bit of a mess, but surely this is the first time for BD. Maybe this kind of fails would be more expected, if BD…

Okay the fourth time's the charm right?, oh wait that's thrid........ WILL THE PATCH RETRIEVE DELETED QUARANTINED ITEMS? Don't count on it.

Yeah...about that. LOL

I am angry about the problem caused by BD, but as far as I know it's still the best AV suite out there, despite the perhaps irredeemable issue today. If there were a better AV suite I'd switch to it, but Kaspersky is too memory hungry and Norton just ######, so I'll still use BD, but I will expect some compensation for my…

No, you're wrong. None of my programs work still. It's as if you accomplished nothing. Good O'l BD support to the rescue. RUN!!!

Update from Bitdefender's Twitter: "this is taking a bit longer than expected - we are testing it right now." I have personal experience with Bitdefender and their efficiency to fix problems. Give it another week and it might be fixed. Don't worry though when this is fixed another problem will sure arise. Here's some tips…

That will bankrupt them. LOL

I have the 3pc 2tr license also, luckily the other 2 are laptops, so they rarely connect to internet. But on my main computer I had to format and install everything all over again (will continue to install the rest of my software for the next couple of days). From 10000 placed in quarantine, only a few were showing (like…

I have always used Norton, and I guess I will go back to it, I was advised that Norton was a resource hog and should use bitdefender because it is more stable. I have had Norton for about 6 years with minor problems, non that I was not able to repair or keep under control myself. I have never had any legitimate software…

How do I boot in safe mode? I am not given the option to do this when I start up for some reason. Press F8 when you turn on your computer repetitively. It will give you options. Select safe mode. GL
-
NOT FOR ALL USERS Think about it. Computer will not boot normally. Then your going to try system restore from safe mode? Good luck.(It may work but not when the last system restore FAILED.) Heck, try it what do you have to lose when your internet security turns on you Also, it was only for bitdestroyer NOT EVERYONE.
-
@BitDestroyer - >try to restore from Safe Mode, it should work properly. I bet that will work
