meh, nah the "full" shutdown didn't help.

Hi @Alexandru_BD , I suspect that it does update when Windows gets properly shut down, but only then. Which is a problem because the Windows 10 and Windows 11 standard setting is to do a sort of hybrid between shutdown and hibernation/standby. It seems as if in that case, the automatic update is not triggered. Also, some…

Alright thanks for the answer about "not being protected" while Bitdefender restarts. What about the other part of my question?
-
@Alexandru_BD sorry but I have to bother you. what do you think of my suggestion (comment above, last sentence)?
-
@Alexandru_BD Seriously I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling etc. my internet connection is flawless too. "last update 5h ago" and that was manually as well. It would be nice to have an AV that updates it's databases automatically ^^ btw then a major product update installed on its own while I was in a game and asked for…

"ever hours" lol sorry for the typo. It's supposed to say "every hour"

didn't help me. it updates ever hours IF the PC is running. But if my PC goes into standby for - let's say 2 days - , it does not update itself after I log in. So the first hour using my PC I have database info from 2 days ago. I can visit malicous websites and download viruses for one hour without Bitdefender even…

It does not update itself when I wake my computer from standby. last update was 8 hours ago. the next time it will check for updates is 1 hour after I wake the PC from standby. Just have it update itself after a user logs in. 😘

Yes sir! I can confirm that the performance is back to normal. 👍️ (in my testing even a bit better than before!) I have deleted all exceptions, started the game and used the ingame benchmark to confirm that. THANK YOU!! 🤩

I wanted to add / clarify something: In my thank-you-comment I falsely talked about power plans. That was not precise. The power plan was still balanced and not the problem. It was the performance mode in the "new" settings. Scott described the solution correctly, I did not. I apologize for the possible confusion I caused…

@Scott Thank you very much, that is a great, useful tip! I never even considered that option, because in my experience it did nothing in the past. (I was coming from an AMD system where the custom power plan was faster than the high performance mode) I guess if people want to let the scan run in the background, this…

Simply turning off "ADVANCED THREAT DETECTION" solved it. You can easily reproduce this with the inbuilt benchmark. 👍️
