Hi, I don't know what the cause of the problem is, but you can disable the encryption. Go to the 'BD Control Panel' in expert mode, then click on the encryption tab. Uncheck the MSN messenger encryption box I hope it helps

Hey, Did you get this error : 'Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Error' I see you're running XP, what service pack? If it's service pack 2, the problem is most likely not with BD. I had the same issue yesterday. But it's a real simple solution. Go to the 'supporttool' application (C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2010), then right-click on it and choose 'Run as administrator'.

Hi, I have the same problem. When I check for updates the 'status' stays at 0%. Then after a while of this, I get a red circle with am exclamation mark. I did reset the rules in the firewall tab, and I also copied v_live_s.xml in safe mode. Nothing solved the problem though. Please help
