It turns out this is not true, I have silent update checked but the program still pops up a windows taking focus from any active window for you to pick the updates. While updates are important they do not need instant attention, taking focus from whatever the user is doing is not reasonable.

Thanks for the fix suggestion @Razldazl I have recently installed BitDefender and am a gamer. I was in the middle of semi-final match when BitDefender decided that it was more important for it to update and take me offline than whatever I happened to be doing on my computer at the time. I wasn't best happy to lose my match…
