  • Problem solved: In Firewall/Settings, Default App Behavior, I changed the listed (Ethernet) to ALLOW. I don't know what application was affected (I listed the one i thought in the rules) but it worked! Maybe this will be a help to you.

  • Additional info: Virtual com ports created by RealPort (COM4, COM5, etc) as shown in Device Manager. With BitDef firewall off, ports connect to external IP and port. With firewall on, ports do not connect. Thus my app and a second app also using these virtual COM ports, not connecting.
