Hey Chris, Yep, I used the Norton Removal tool. Deleted that one line as well, so I should be good to go. I'm still getting that popup window for ExcludeFromKnowndlls. Thought I'm in a rush to get to class, so I can't really do anything now.. a bit of searching and I found this link -…

Deleted Norton, as well as any other spywayre removal tools - Installed AVG Full Version After scanning - it just found a few cookies, which I removed. Here is the hijack log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 8:51:28 PM, on 10/25/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer…

Hey Chris, I will try your new suggestions when I get home. Basically the only reason why I have those all installed was because I was freaking out when I realized my PC was infected. Norton was what I was originally running and I really don't understand I didn't even get notified when the files / registry was being…

Thanks for the fast replies Chris - really appreciate it. I'll do another BitDefender scan, and see what comes up. Currently have an AVG scan going and it found one infection: Boot sector of Disk / Reading error / C: Here's the screenshot of the two windows

But SpyBot Search and Destroy keeps showing this message upon startup Category: Session manager Change: Value Added Entry:…

Here is the hijack log after deleting those two items. Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 1:27:45 PM, on 10/25/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT…

After running the scan, it seemed to find the trojan. To make sure, I ran the scan twice. The second time came up clean. So I rebooted my computer and it gets past the XP loading screen, but now freezes at "Windows is now starting up" so right before the login page. I restarted, pressed F8, and choose "startup with last…

I did not run a scan yet with AVG, because for some reason it wasn't letting me install software in SafeMode. I think BitDefender managed to delete one of the viruses because now my computer does actually start up. Keeping in mind I do have Norton installed, will that be a problem with AVG? For example, at the end of the…
