I have completely the same problem with, what appears to be, the same setup & BD install history as Scottie (though in my case I have reinstalled BD on many occasions to get to the root of another problem). Assume that this is quite prevalent and I'd guess that most people have not seen it as they leave their event logs…

I have the same problem, i took Live Assistance advice and reinstalled Internet Security 2008 but the problem still persists... I hope BD fix this problem soon. Any update on when this might get fixed; now Bitdefender *silently* crashing (confirmed by EICAR) which is clearly dangerous!

Then you might want to get the BBC to modify its report; the link above is #2 in their "most emailed" list & "BitDefender AV" is the first in their list of "Programs Hit By SP1"...
