I'm having a similar problem - i.e., can't print to a network printer, but running on XP pro SP 2. The wireless network is setup on an airport extreme to which I wireless connect. There are moments when the firewall goes off (I don't understand that either) and the printer prints. So, sometimes I'll get a print job hours…
