I received the same email and I'm glad to say that so far so good. (A few hours testing, but it used to show instantly before.) I'll keep an eye on it for a week and report back.

Well logically you'll have to provide proof of purchase etc, so yes those who contacted support I'd say.

Yeah, reply said it'll be in the next update. Will also be getting compensated thankfully.

Just got this via email "This is just a quick note to inform you that the Bitdefender development team has identified the culprit and is working on a fix. The CPU spikes will be patched up soon."
-
Just wondering what version of Windows everyone Is running? Trying to narrow this down a bit.
-
As am I, but their replies are very slow.

I had no other issues with it personally, just this atc.sys for a few months. I've been using Bitdefender for years and couldn't be happier. Nothing's perfect, but I'm sure they can fix it.
-
Do you think it might have started when bitdefender updated to 2018 version? It seems that a lot of people are blaming that for things. I'm still waiting too, and attempting to assist via email.
-
Well there goes my idea that it was a Windows 10 issue. Definitely seems to just be a problem with bitdefender.

I assumed this was a support forum... I do like Bitdefender, I use it on all of my devices, hence why I'm seeking assistance...

I really hope this is being worked on, I found another 2 threads with similar problems. With no responses... I just realised I didn't mention which product I was using - Bitdefender Total Security 2018.
-
Looks like I'm not going to bother trying yet then :/ Not liking having to go this long without a third party Anti-virus...

Was updating directed toward me as well? If so, I will report back either after a week or if I continue to have issues, whichever is sooner.

Your OS may be corrupted so try to download now again the latest version freshly of your BD Product or for even better result do it in a new OS. A wooden PC? What? There is nothing…

I too am having an issue with atc.sys spiking the cpu usage randomly. Most noticeable in games which causes them to freeze completely for a moment. I believe I only started having this issue when Windows 10 updated to CU or FCU, but those updates were completed very close together so I cannot be sure. Before then…
