  • Try dnsleaktest.com, this was what told me before that the BOX 2 wasnt using the DNS I had set, but was defaulting to the ISP router’s hardcoded DNS instead.
  • Well, I just set the DNS manually on my devices that have that option (comps, tablets, phones). But one big selling point of having the Box 2 is protecting the IoT devices that don't have that option. I can't run pi-hole on a Mac, and I'm not about to go buy a raspberry pi when I just spent $$ on this Box 2
  • Hey Stu. If I had an extra computer lying around that I could install pfsense on, I would give it a shot. But I don't, so the Box2 seemed like a good alternative at the time. I tried Cujo but had to return it because it wouldn't even start up for me about 80% of the time. At least Box2 works, and without too much…
  • If you're looking for suggested features, I have a few: 1) More granular controls for 'child accounts' - e.g., allow 'games' but block 'narcotics', '', 'suicide'... 2) IPv6 support 3) Ad blocking 4) QoS 5) VPN server/client installation
  • Where do you see guest account? There's a "Guest" in the users pane of the mobile app, but that doesn't seem to actually do anything, and it's not a guest network like what you've been asking for.
  • Thanks! Can't wait to try it out.
  • Note for others, that Box 2 also allows you to pick 192.168.* or 10.* IP range as well.
