Downloaded the update and the problem is still there. I agree, BD is trying to pass-the-buck on this problem to Microsoft when in fact, it's really BD itself. I tried what you said and it still doesn't stop the error from happening. I guess I'll just have to get in the habit of shutting down Windows Live messenger first, before I restart or shutdown my PC. The error doesn't seem to do any harm to the computer or files...more of an annoyance. Thanks for your input though!

I found out that if I close WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER before restart/shutdown...there is no error message. Maybe the error is linked to Windows Live Messenger itself?
