I am trying to put a command line scanner in a download application. Where is the path to BitDefender's command line scanner please. P.S. No I did not install 2017 as…
  • I used to have BD TS 2018 and went to Kaspersky TS 2018 to fix my issues as they are going to need to rewrite the entire BD TS/IS 2018 to get it to function correctly, Way too many issues with the 2018 release. Now they won't refund my money like they said they would, Great company to do business with, Have something in…

  • 1 hour ago, WalkinTarget said: Tmod700, I already tried the two attached atc.xml files included in this thread, manually copying both while in safe mode into both of the proper folders. No change with either xml fille in place. I did copy it into BOTH locations, assuming the LGKC was the 'backup' (Last Good Known Config)…
  • 5 hours ago, WalkinTarget said: Wow, so I decided I might as well give this a try, and I was quite confused at the results. There is no folder structure on the working Win7 PC that matches the subfolder structure on the non-working PC !! I took a screenshot of both for reference: Working -…
  • I thought it was just my imagination and also thought I must be going crazy and forgot I enabled auto pilot again but I guess I am not the only one. I must say BD really botched the release of BD TS2018.
  • 3 hours ago, WalkinTarget said: Installed Bitdefender on a second machine running the same OS as the first - Win7 64, and it is running as of this morning with no 'at risk' warnings popping up. I'm almost tempted to copy files/folders from that install to my main box, but I'm holding off for now in hopes that support can…
  • I will second this as after my uninstalls using the remover tool there were still several traces of Bitdefender left behind that I had to go in and remove manually.
  • 1 hour ago, macracus said: Having done the atc.xml replacement I am still having issues with the ATD. The bitdefender engine is 22.0.10.141. Did you add the file to the two different file locations? Did you try editing the files with the replacement code I posted?
  • 44 minutes ago, macracus said: Greetings! I use Total Security 2017 and today I was prompted to upgrade to 2018 version. On completion the widget shows a red x and states "at risk". On checking the error, I noticed that the Advanced Threat Defense is not activated. I cannot do it manually. I updated several times and…
  • Just for kicks and grins I checked the wifes Win 10 system and no error in event viewer, So it seems regardless of whether we have the slider set to enabled ATD still does not work in Win 7. I checked another Win 7 system and showed the error in the event viewer as well.
  • Same error, So much for it working, I guess just because it shows enabled doesn't mean it is doing anything. • I as well tried Martin69's fix and it was a no go same issue as before, But he did bring to light the two different files in two different locations so I did as he suggested and compared both and sure as a shooting the atc.xml file located in Program Files > Bitdefender > Bitdefender Security > Settings > LGKC was lacking…
  • 15 minutes ago, netmon said: This may not help, but as a counter-example I am having none of these issues with Bitdefender. Note all installs were clean installs of Bitdefender Total Security 2018 v22.0.10.141, and not an upgrade from a previous Bitdefender version: * Win 7 64-bit fully patched - ok (first thoroughly…
  • 31 minutes ago, Steve Pitts said: The only possible implication of this, if they're not BSing you, is that their Win7 test systems are all running unpatched versions of the OS. Something tells me that 'deflecting blame' is a more likely explanation, so I call BS. Yep you are spot on as I uninstalled each and every update…
  • Ok just an update to the ATD issue, According to BD tech support the issue stems from updates during upgrades by Microsoft on Win 7 systems. So maybe SP1 had something in it that TS 2018 doesn't like. Who knows for sure at this point but at least we have a direction.
  • You should have an option on the BD Interface lower left corner second from the bottom, The gear looking icon is Settings then go to Update and disable the updates. Problem with that is then you don't get the new definition files. You could also select 'prompt before downloading' on the 'update processing rules' dropdown…
  • 56 minutes ago, s3dbw said: I have the same problem since Bitdefender auto updated from 2017 to 2018. Obvious question, is there anyway to stop the auto update between versions as the 2017 version performed well and would be quite happy to re-install that. You can go into Settings > Update and then disable the updates…
  • 7 minutes ago, Mark957 said: Tmod700, My system is Win 7 Pro SP1 64 bit. BitDefender seems to be working, it's just the way it all came about that is concerning. As all the changed files are in the BitDefender 2017 directory, how do we know that its actually 2018 other than the banner saying its 2018? I don't suppose it…
  • I should have specified that the system that downloaded the update and it worked was a Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit OS on 64 bit hardware. The Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS and hardware still have issues with TS 2018.
  • I have had the issue with TS 2018 and ATD on a Win7 system after I upgraded it but a different system that just had an automatic upgrade done on it TS 2018 worked fine and it is a Win7 Ultimate system. It did not uninstall either TS 2016 or TS 2017 and actually installed the TS 2018 files under the TS 2017 folder. Strange…
  • You will have some protection but not anywhere what Bitdefender states we would have by using 2018, I have a very hard time grasping that the program auto updates and gives us a very bugging version and then we are not able to revert back to 2017 from Bitdefender. As you can see below we are only able to revert back to…
  • According to a technical support engineer we are not able to revert back to TS 2017, We have to go back to TS 2016 which is a bunch of crap as stated they surely still have TS 2017 on some server somewhere. I agree that TS 2018 was released too early at least IMO and TS 2017 worked so much smoother and no issues. Some of…

A feature request was made and sent to our devs. For the time being you can disable each Bitdefender module to stop the protection. https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/3347/ I tried that solution by just turning the firewall to off and it stayed…

  • 7 hours ago, gordow said: Is there any work around for this problem or are the BD mods leaving us out to dry? Since this has been a known issue since July 14 , 2017 and there is not a mention of what is wrong or how it is fixed I would venture to say find another security program. Even tech told me they would refund my…
  • I agree with downloadkct 100%, Why is it every other internet security program company has this feature but Bitdefender does not? I went in to the program to disable the firewall and it still stays enabled unless I disable the firewall and then reboot. So in my experience there is no way to accomplish this task without…
  • I login in everyday as admin and have even tried installing from 'run as administrator' take ownership' and every other possible scenario I could think of and still the same result. ATD will not enable. Yeah BD has a very unique sense of humor suggesting that installing Win10 will solve my issues. What about the other…
