UPDATE I uninstalled BD 2009 and re-installed (downloaded new version), now the update seems to be working. What a pain. Hope this does not happen again.

I also have the same update problem on Win XP SP3. Automatic updates started to fail after Feb 13th. I've repaired twice now. HELP
