Just noticed I have the same problem. It started August 25, 2022.

I was unable to open the Bitdefender Shield app on my mac and when I tried to uninstall (both with the program and manually) it failed. I contacted Bitdefender and they said this was a known issue and they are working on it. In the mean time I reinstalled Norton which does not expire til Jan. 1.
