Ok, managed to "fix" it. I downloaded the offline installer "http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/de...r_ts_17_32b.exe" and it worked. Hope it helps someone else. Best regards.

Before trying to reinstall it would be advisable to uninstall any traces of the previous attempt with the BD Uninstaller tool. Then install the program again.
