  • There is no link between the forums and My Bitdefender. I recommend you use separate passwords wherever feasible, so that should your forums password be exposed, your product keys and administered systems remain safe. That said, you can use the same password between the two by individually setting them to a common value.…

  • The Extended Error Information field provides information related to the validity and integrity of the signature. This includes standard compliance of data in the signature's embedded information as well as trustworthiness of the signature. This specific field is not stored with the file. It is generated when you ask…
  • Digital signatures themselves do not expire(unless revoked explicitly). They are not usually checked against the system clock. If that would be the case most builds of Windows, for example, would currently have invalid signatures. Certificates used to sign files, on the other hand, do expire. Normally a valid certificate…
  • Both product ranges should act, detect and block approximately to the same levels. Could you please provide some detection names, samples, sample hashes, Virus Total links, etc. etc. so we can investigate?
  • Hello. I tracked that build internally and the hash that was provided at the time of the build matches the one for the linked ISO. That is - cf1eb853ff6f61af0a31c967e095bdef. All build ISOs feature an outdated md5sum.txt file. This is an issue with our build process. Thank you for pointing it out. I'll forward this along,…
  • I totally forgot to write back. Terribly sorry. I've rolled back the modifications on the file and it does not appear to be detected currently. We're investigating the situation and will be pushing a fix if needed. In the meantime, have you tried uncommenting the lines and seeing if it happens again? You have not mentioned…
  • Hello. That's mighty peculiar... Could you please PM me a copy of your hosts file so we can try to reproduce the issue? (please rename it to hosts.txt so it passes the upload filter on the forums) Thanks!
  • While I understand your point of view, the two things are completely unrelated. The team working on enhancing cleanup to cover offline disinfection is not targeting a split product, nor would they be able to release it in a time-frame convenient to clients. What I can say is that this support will not target individual…

  • The damage has already been done by a virus, will not be worse I believe I have not properly addressed this. There are two completely different things here. Rampant posted about a sample that is not detected and mentioned that we are not offering a registry editor as part of Rescue Mode. My opinion, and that of many of my…

  • Not necessarily. Strictly speaking, if such samples were detected at the moment and removed without their registry entries, clients would be locked out. We can pick up and clean traces of an infection if the infection is still there, but it is not up to an antivirus product to correct random invalid registry entries like…

  • Registry scanning and cleanup from the rescue mode and rescue CD environments is work in progress, but it won't be available to end-users to manually change things. An ETA was set to 'when it's done', since any improper action in this case can easily cause more harm than good. It would appear that the sample is undetected,…

  • You cannot, and the forums software does not allow for granular settings for your account only. You should be able to store up to 100 messages in your account, more than enough for any intended, non-moderator use. It might appear as an inconvenience, but storing messages indefinitely doesn't really help with anything.
